The Emperor's Loyal II
You guys made the Legion of the Damned comp my most successful WH40K post yet, even more popular than the Ork Bestiary, I even hit Front Page…
By the Emperors’ Golden Toothbrush; I did not see that coming…
You guys make hitting the Lexicanums completely worth it.
The Descendants of the Imperial Fists; the Black Templars became more outgoing as the ever-Holy-Terra-defending Imperial Fists with their Primarch, Rogal Dorn.
They are basically the Imperium's primary Crusaders and the anti-Witch/Heretic/Mutant specialists of the Space Marines, but that doesn't stop them from purging whichever enemy threatens Humanity under their watch.
"No Pity! No Remorse! No Fear!"
A Second Founding Space Marine Chapter; while they were created from the Imperial Fists, a First Founding Chapter, they aren’t as loyal to the Codex Astartes as the predecessors and withhold a different Chapter structure than others.
However, that doesn’t mean that they are Renegades, in fact, as the Imperium’s ‘’primary’’ Crusader Chapter, they have been on the Longest Crusade in the history of Humanity, in order to prove their loyalty to The Emperor: since the Horus Heresy, meaning about 10.000 standard Terran years.
The Combat Doctrine of the Black Templars is a heavy onslaught of almost-exclusively melee fighters, employing a huge amount of Power weapons.
Deploying with drop pods under cover of heavy orbital bombardment, they tear at the enemy, or if the opposing defences are still running strong, will call upon their heavy weaponry and spearhead the weakest link.
They also tend to employ Emperor’s Champions quite often, who, before a larger Crusade receive a vision of The Emperor; they are then given the Armour of Faith and a Black Sword. High Marshal Sigismund, the first High Marshal was an Emperor’s Champion; while still in the Imperial Fists.
They are supposedly the largest Space Marine Chapter currently in existence, spanning anywhere from 1000 to 6000 members, but are scattered across the Galaxy and Fleet based, so their exact number is unknown, only estimated.
They loathe all Psykers and as such, do not employ any among their own ranks. However, they do seem to enjoy the company of the Grey Knights, as well as the Sisters of Battle.
One thing is certain; when against the Black Templars… May The Emperor have mercy on their souls, for the Templars shall not...
Their Chapter Master, or in their case; High Marshal is Helbrecht; the greatest Naval commander of the Adeptus Astartes and rightfully so, during the Third War for Armageddon, he took control of all planetside Space Marine fleets and repelled the outnumbering Ork Fleets.
Even when he was a simple Neophyte, he was destined for greatness; he was stubborn to the Warp and back, resolute and with unflinching loyalty to The God-Emperor (or is it Man-Emperor now? Anyway…) he was the perfect candidate.
Despite his Chapter specializing against more Chaos-inclined foes, Helbrecht has come face to face with Imotekh the Stormlord, currently possibly the most accomplished and powerful Necron Phaeron on more than one occasion.
He was last seen departing with Commissar Yarrick, from the Hive World of Armageddon, to hunt the dreaded Ork Warlord Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka.
The Black Templars are immensely zealous in their Crusade and as such, have their traditions dedicated to this; Devotion Chains, which are used to bind the Marine to his weapons on the eve of battle with heavy chains, which were then removed at victory; while this was originally started by the World Eaters when they were still loyal.
The Black Templars took it further and incorporated the Chains of Zeal, which bind the Marine to his weapon permanently; removing the gauntlet with the Chains still attached is an act of great dishonour, making the Marine have his weapon in hand until the end of his service; his death.
The Hallowed artefact of the Black Templars is the Sword of the High Marshals; wielded by all the High Marshals, it was forged from the shards of the Sword that Rogal Dorn, the Primarch of the Imperial Fists broke in rage after failing to protect The Emperor during the end of the Horus Heresy.
Sigismund, the Founder of the Black Templars decreed that this weapon remains in use by the High Marshals, as a reminder for their Chapter to atone for their Primarchs’ failure.
And so they went on a Crusade...
The Hero of Helsreach, the Reclusiarch of the Black Templars is a Veteran of the Third War for Armageddon. As everyone in the Black Templars, he is tough as nails. During the Third War for Armageddon, he fought an Ork WAAAAAAGGHHH! in a crumbling temple, which held several important Imperial Artefacts, he held them off bravely until the entire ******* building fell down on him.
However, he survived somehow, be it The Emperors’ Divine Will, him being tougher than nails, sheer dumb luck or all of the above; and brought out 3 of the more important Artefacts. He later proceeded to save an Imperator Titan, steal an Ordinatus from the Adeptus Mechanicus and with it, went on to kill the largest Ork Mega Gargant of the Third War for Armageddon.
''Hey, you there! See this?! This is going up your ass!''
Born as Raclaw, he was a member of the Drumkil tribe on the primitive world of Kilhaven. His endurance is considered legendary even compared to other Dreadnouths. He was presented in the WH40K Comic Damnation Crusade, which was posted a few months back.
He is now completely canon and ready to purge for the Emperor. Armed with an Assault Cannon, a Power Fist and a Storm Bolter, he has taken down a Tau Shas’o Commander, several Chaos Space Marines and a Daemon Lord, all on his own…
On the first comp about the Legion of the Damned, the largest request I got was for the Black Templars, so I rolled with it and this is what came of it.
Sorry if it took longer, I had 2 exams this week and had barely caught up with the subjects in school.
Next one is probably gonna be about the Salamanders, they seem like cool bros; unless, of course, there’s sufficient votes for some other Chapter; I leave that up to you guys...
If you have any questions about basically anything related to WH40K; please address them to Krasnogvardiech; who I’m sure will be more than happy to help; I might step in as well.
Ave Imperator, Friends!
