That would be brilliant. The Ultramarines movie wasn't too bad, but they could have used a different chapter, Blood Ravens or the Grey Knights maybe

i hate to say it but the blood ravens suck. their chapter makes no sense from a fluff perspective.
I am an ultramarines player and even i think games and films should be about a different chapter. I think a full feature film about the bloodquest novel would be cool.

With the utter destruction the Blood Ravens took in the Dawn of War series, it'd be a ******* miracle for them to even survive as a chapter.

the crimson fists were reduced to 126 members and they are still a force to be reckoned with. Relic decided to suck their own dick in spacemarine and bring the blood ravens into that too. according to Titus, they are uber badasses and their chapter is going strong.
then again captain Titus doesn't actually exist and im not supposed to listen to his opinion.

I mainly like them due to mystery surrounding them, the high number of psykers they produce and the fact that they may have descended from the Thousand Sons traitor legion.

actually i think that it is more or less confirmed that they are uncorrupted thousand suns.
i mostly hate them because of the fact that they have lost 2 librarians to Khorn. how the **** that happened i have no idea.

Khorn has no psykers. Kharn the betrayer denies the witch on a 2+ and is immune to force weapons because he is Khorns champion and is protected from psychic powers because of it.
Khorn believes that true warriors should fight face to face, rather than throw magic at each other.
there is not one true psyker in a Khorn army, and yet he decided to corrupt a bunch of librarians.

its partly relics fault. they dont pay any attention to fluff when making their games. they ****** up the alpha legion in DOW as well and the ultramarines in space marine.

Thanks for explaining. That seems more like a problems on Khornes side rather than with the Blood Ravens.

I'm guessing the 2+ is to do with the actual game, I got most of my info from the books and the sites about.

there is other reasons i dont like the Blood Ravens too. I dont like how they have millions of chapter relics from chapters that they have little to no interaction with. but yea short answer is that it is all Relics fault.

if you like them then its not my place to tell you not to. But just know that their chapter makes no sense when compared to any other chapter. they are a codex based chapter that dosnt follow the codex.

i also recommend you read the Heresy novels. they are really good, and anything you dont understand anyone on a forum will gladly explain.

I knew they had relics, but why from other chapters?

I find the chapters with the more mutated geneseeds the most interesting, like the Space Wolves or the Blood Angels.

well there is an in joke about i think Korsaro Khan. someone asked him with the blood ravens had a relic named after him and the response was something along the lines of "i have never heard of that chapter nor is it listed in the codex."
I think they have relics from other chapters because the creators wanted to name drop as many people as they could. if i was cynical i would say its because they wanted to cover up the fact they know nothing about warhammer 40k.

I love the space wolves mostly because of bjorn. The emperors gift would be much more interesting from the spacewolves perspective IMO. Then again that wasnt the point of the book.

GW did create the blood ravens but they were a nothing chapter. just one in a list of names.
Relic, for some reason unknown to me, decided to use them in dawn of war, probably because they were more or less untouched by Fluff.

I was never really a fan of the Ultramarines.
Do you have any idea where this is from, I'm assuming it's from one the books.

"You have commited the ultimate heresy. Not only have you turned your back on the Emperor and stepped from His light, you have profaned His name and almost destroyed everything He has striven to build. You have perverted and twisted the path He has laid for Mankind to tread. As your own decrees have stated, there can be no mercy for such a crime, no pity for such a criminal. I renounce your lordship. You walk in the darkness and can not be allowed to live. Your sentence has been long overdue, and now it is time for you to die."

there is no reply link to the last comment so i will put it here.

the first rule of 40k is that EVERYONE has a space marine army. be it Knights, standard codex, chaos or otherwise. they automatically regroup if they retreat and are hardy with easy stats to remember since they are 4 across the board. i would go with a named space marine codex like the wolves. Spacewolves are very good in close combat but the list i run makes them able to out gun most armies as well.

the downside to space marines is they they do everything better than most, but there are armies that do something specific better. like tau will outgun any space marine list but suck in combat.

It all comes down to your playstyle. what kind of army do you want? what type of playstyle seems most interesting to you? things like that.

well one of the reasons Gk are so much stronger than other armies is because they were written in fifth edition but with their rules planning ahead for sixth. same for necrons;. Sisters arent even a real army since they have no codex and their models are ****. you can write a list to take Gk no problem. My wolves do it by logan bombing everyone into the ground with longfangs.

On one hand, if they add the Apocalypse theme into the Dawn of War series, with 15k+ soldiers per battle, it will be glorious.
If they make a small-scale battle, with duels between elite champions like what my above image suggests, it will be glorious.
If they make it expotentially larger-scale than that, with the player being in charge of entire sector-forces, and one's resources to wage war being dictated by the output of their industries, it will be glorious.

Don't worry about it. Leave 'em to it. They might do good.

Whatever they do, i hope it has at least all the armies that were in dark crusade (especially tau), im getting a bit annoyed with armies like necrons being left out of 40k games, and whats worse is it was £6 to buy just a tau xv8 for last stand, but £10 for an entire expansion pack. I hope they make it more dow1 than 2, an 4x type rts, not whatever rts this is, a mix of the two would be cool, so dow1 for the campaign but keep last stand or something.

But they would also show a more human style of conduct, which will make the more relatable which a director shouldn't want for these specific characters. You want the audience to think of them as gods of warfare, angels of death, not childish brutes, which is how Space Wolves may come across if they utilize blood claws in any motion picture venture
