7th edition? already? isn't that a bit soon?

well whatever, trying to transition from DOW and novels into the actual game. No better time to buy a rule book and a few CSMs to paint i guess.

Yeah, it is indeed a bit soon. Dunno why they bring it out so soon, but it's gonna be more of a 6.5 than a 7 anyway. Wait until the May 24th, it's gonna come out then
User avatar #9 to #5 - biscuitsunited (05/11/2014) [-]
They brought it out 'cause 6th was an utter failure
User avatar #13 to #9 - atomschlumpf (05/11/2014) [-]
Well I dunno, I'm pretty new to the stuff. If you want to elaborate/rant about what is bad about it I'd like to listen. And what do you think about the rumors of the new one?
User avatar #6 to #5 - vorarephilia (05/11/2014) [-]
perfect! gonna be on vacation around that time, so i'm free to do more reading.

What i've read was that it's even more like war hammer fantasy, and that the codexes won't be re written.
User avatar #7 to #6 - atomschlumpf (05/11/2014) [-]
Yeah rumors are they are gonna introduce a psiphase and psyker abilities will then cost magic points which you have to roll.
The codices come out in turns, next up will probably be orks and after that space wolves (yay). They don't get rewritten every time a new version comes out, it's more kind of a regular schedule
User avatar #26 to #7 - Monsterofthedog (05/12/2014) [-]
thought all space marines are all in a single codex now
User avatar #28 to #26 - atomschlumpf (05/12/2014) [-]
No, Space Wolves, Blood Angels, Dark Angels and Grey Knights have their own codices. Space Wolves and Blood Angels are probably getting an update soon

I remember that before I knew of 40k, I thought that was M. Byson from Street Fighter.

Love the details.

Details are, like, 90% of what 40k fanart is.

User avatar #34 to #23 - atomschlumpf (05/12/2014) [-]
About...a week or two ago? It's gonna come out 24th May

Sadly 7th edition is appearing to be the death of 40k. They had 4 years to playtest and proofread 6th edition and that had to be FAQ'd up the ass within months of release so our 40k communities not holding out much hope. The new mode of playing, "Unbound", that lets you ignore force organization chart and play any model you own is a giant ******* moneygrab by GW and is rumbling the jimmies of alot of people. I love 40k but its not balanced and instead of GW attempting to fix it, they always use the excuse "We're a model company first". So almost all of our 40k community has switched over to Warmachine/Hordes from Privateer Press. Its a great game thats actually balanced by the fact that there's nothing that genuinely a bad unit and Privateer Press actually listens to their fanbase.

tldr: GW dun goofed and alot of players have jumped ship

man **** Unbound, thats just going to be ******* useless besides a wankfest for moneywarriors.

its a shame too, i really liked the old dark comedy of WH40k and the Eisenhorn books were great as well

its time to put the pony behind the shed and find a new sci fi large scale game to play
User avatar #35 to #24 - StrongestElk (05/12/2014) [-]
Unbound's just gonna be a giant penis wagging fest of who spent the most money on the strongest models in the game. Same reason I dont play apocalypse, its all about who spent the most money on their titan. If you're looking for a new sci-fi game i highly recommend Hordes or Warmachine. Its 2 different games but can be played together. Hordes is more of a fantasy setting with giant warbeasts and stuff but Warmachine is more steampunk with giant metal warjacks.

Only if they return the Sensei, Starchild AND I WANT MY SQUATS BACK.

I'm one of those few that actually liked the dark comedy of the first edition best.

As long as my Skyblight Formation stays as OP as it is now, I'm cool.
