My first attempt at painting a model and my setup I use to paint. I think I did quite well, but any tips and advice would be much appreciated.

It's a table top game. You have figurines that all have different abilities ( Loads and loads of books about them ) And you fight against other people. I personally hate it, because all the 40K players that play at the shop I play Magic at, are ******* 40 year old assholes that think they are the tits. Pic is the " Terrain" or table top map you play on. Game involves a lot of dice rolling, and a lot of measuring with a ruler.

a bit over the top I'd say(the number of paints), It's a really good job for your first time, just don't expect to much of your self

This looks really great. I don't paint figures (I draw and color pictures instead) but it may help your process to have a more organized work space in terms of placing your colors in the same "family" Such as blues, greens, reds, etc. I don't know but it always helps me to find the colors more easily. But this really looks great! I love the details!

its always good to provide an undercoat with the (either white or black) sprays games workshop sell (other places to) it gives a good base to work off of + if you dont after a while the paint will flake off

Looking good, if you want to improve more a tip is to ask your local game store for painting courses and similar. (Games workshop are good at this)
It looks better than my first.

Painting is just fine, but your photographic skills need some more training
