Power claws are a power weapon so they should have a purple or blue glow, and if you want the red to look red without painting 500 layers of red you can always paint white or pink and then paint the red over that, apart from that you have some xenophopic painting skills, but I hate dual wield power claws because he has no ranged weapon and the new rules say that if he is the closest to the enemy then he is the one to take the first wound and on a roll of 4+ a guy can jump in the way and take a wound. so you might not even be able to use him before he gets shot down. BUT if he does get into an assault then he has his 2 claws so thats already a +2 on his number of attacks, so (A)+2 and if you charge its another +1 so he should tear open a few new arse-holes pretty quickly.

I never played the game, i just bought them. Glued them together, painted them and then just put them up on my shelf.

Very nice. I can paint my Tau about as well, but I can never get their faces to come out the way I want. I'm trying for a slightly greener tint because they come from an older farsight enclave. What do you have in the way of fluff for your personal army?
User avatar #339 to #307 - suminusthegreat (02/14/2013) [-]
I have some fluff that I add to whenever I'm bored, but so far my black templars are sent on a crusade to help an imperial guard regiment (an army that I'm starting/ thinking about starting) fight against the Iron Warriors and chaos cultists (another army that I'm currently starting).

Warhammer 40000? On MY frontpage?

Oh god, yes.

Good paintjob OP, the black looks a little flat though, a little grey can fix that. But there are a few problems:

1) This isn't funny, so post it rather on coolminiornot or somewhere else

2) Those are space marines, and I have IG, and marines are always like, "do you even lift", and IG is always liek "F U"

i will ask though. where did you find/convert those lightning claws?
User avatar #298 to #296 - suminusthegreat (02/08/2013) [-]
I got the lightning claws from the chaos space marine Warp Talon box set, I just cut/shaved off all of the lightning decoration and pointy bits.

Because of the size of their heads, I thought they were midgets.

It's really good, but that paint must have cost you a lot of money OP. A friend of mine works in a store where they sell those boardgames and all that goes with them, and let me tell you the paint for those figures costs a lot and comes in very small packages
User avatar #311 to #288 - umaya (02/08/2013) [-]
they cost £2.30 each and i stopped for about a year and when i decided to continue they had either dried up or gone sticky or gone into layers that dont stay mixed, and you need 10 at a minimum so its £23 for just the paints.
User avatar #305 to #288 - thelastamerican ONLINE (02/08/2013) [-]
Buy the paint in bulk at an art supply store. I get about 4 oz bottles of every color I need and I'll probably never run out of anything but my basecote.

Your painting is good, yes.

But is it funny?

No, no it isn't.

It's Warhammer 40,000, which is different to Warhammer, and it IS the best game ever for many reasons.

Damn, man. I wish I could paint my 'Nids that well.

No swarm army is ever painted that well.
