there is still organization. i just don't create a bajillion folders. then i don't remember which one i've looked in or which one has what. different styles of organization.
pros of having a 4k monitor, a few hundred are on the screen when the folder is maximized. no need for **** loads of folders if you can just view thumbnails of them all at once.
I prefer multiple folders. I just remember where I placed each wallpaper based on the theme. It also allows me to further expand my organization if needed.
I used to do the single folder thing, but once I hit a couple hundred, that **** had to go.

I've collected these over years. Since at least middle school which was around a decade ago for me . I still have a handful of 1024x768 wallpapers that haven't made it through my pruning. Some people amass a collection of my size within a few months. I'm pretty sure I'm right in saying that I'm picky.
It's not too bad once you get used to it. I have fairly specific folder names, so there's little room for error. I also keep a few folders of general stuff, then go through it regularly to see if I've collected enough of a particular type for it to earn its own folder.
