Terry Pratchett created one of the best fictional worlds in existence, in my opinion. It's right up there with the Noonday Universe and Middle Earth.

1) How dare you insult the books, the books are fabulous.

2)Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the turtle used to churn the sea of milk by the Devas and the Asuras? Vishnu transformed himself into a tortoise or turtle (forget which) to keep the churning staff from sinking into the ocean of milk, Mount Mandara as the churning staff and the serpent Vasuki and the churning rope.

It's all in the Samudra Manthan.

Super sick picture of discworld... I originally learned of the concept through dungeons and dragons, where there is an actual creature entry for the Great A
'Tuin (the turtle). If you're interested, it has over 11 billion life points.

I thought this was the belief of some old tribe on how the world works

The turtle would be sailing in an endless sea of water.

If you take it as metaphor, it kind of makes sense.

A Mormon friend of mine said something about a sea-turtle, I'm pretty sure this was not it.

Isn't this the scenario for a book RPG? Disk world or something like this.
