I totally completed all three games on the hardest difficulty with the best possible resource out come, I don't need to get skills the thing was an annoying bouncy castle brick, M-44 hammerhead all the way.
The hammerhead could suck a dick for all I care! Mako ****** bitches and got money. Took out thresher maws like no one's business! side note: explosive rounds sniper for the win!
I have a real hard time taking Shepard seriously after watching gamerpoop a thousand times
Also, Ashley is like the worst possible romance option in the game, shame on the videomaker
god i want a game that did what mass effect 1 did with the whole massive open planet exploration
thing but do it better, add plants and alien life and all sorts of **** .
I love building giant ass battlestars in Space Engineers, it sounds ******* stupid as hell, but I want to recreate the scene from New Caprica's assault where the Galactica jumps into atmosphere then jumps out last second.
It's a lot more character-driven, than story-driven. And it's pretty lore-heavy as well. But it's definitely worth sinking your time into. You're going to wish you could wipe your memory to relive some of the moments you'll experience.
The first one's definitely a little clunky; there's some aged gameplay mechanics. But the writing is rock-solid, and out of all three, it captures this magical feeling of freedom to explore a huge, living galaxy.
The second one is the best in a lot of people's opinions, including my own. Story is intense, progression feels satisfying, and it has the most tactical gameplay out of the trilogy. Also, you will fall in love with about 12 fictional characters. Hopelessly, hopelessly in love.
The third has the tightest gunplay and the most polished inventory/leveling-up system out of all three. It also has hands down the best atmosphere/mood, and it's stuffed full of moments that will make a grown man bawl. Trust me, it's happened to both me and my friend. Unfortunately, the infamous ending is infamous for a reason, but the free "Extended Cut" DLC improves it very much.
Overall, the Mass Effect series is probably my favorite sci-fi experience to date, across all media, and probably one of the most rewarding experiences as a gamer I have ever encountered. You can grab the first 2 on Steam right now for just $12. Each game is 40+ hours of content, so it's basically the best bang-for-buck gaming experience in my opinion.
Legit spoiler for 3. Thane's death gets me all the time. It's mostly because my father passed to ALS and his disease is very similar. But the scene in the Illusive Man's base with Kai Lang... Feels so goddamn satisfying.
Adding on to what he said outside of the spoiler, if you want character development out the ass, an interesting universe with diverse character archtypes and dialogue choices Mass Effect is your game.
Also Tali Zorrah vas Normandy narr Rayya best girl.
It's a character driven immense space opera with more emphasis being placed on your interactions with others and the variety of those around you. Definitely one of gaming's greatest trilogies right there.
As I got older, I've learned to appreciate more scripted gameplay... tell your story, show off your mechanics, let me have fun and don't restrict me to a walking simulator. Don't throw me in a world, tell me to create my own fun, then have me waste a huge amount of time going somewhere I ended up not wanting to be at, backtracking, climbing towers, and doing repetitive side missions.
I get the appeal, but I don't have that time anymore, so as much as I loved Mass Effect (including the ending I chose to not choose anything the Reapers gave me) I'm not sure I'll continue with this one any time soon...
