Am I the only one that can spot the irony in a guy with a user name "tittylovin" complaining about objectification of women in the gaming industry?

But seriously, games are primarily aimed at under sexed teens/ preteens, so it is perfectly understandable that the industry would market to them using sex. I honestly couldn't care less about it.

It's the way the industry perceives our demographic and to some extent they may be correct. This could also be down to the artists and programmers who may design the characters according to what they want to see.

But eventually everyone over the age of 40 will die, so gaming will be as viable a medium of entertainment as films. So then we will stop getting hyper sexualization shoved unrepentantly down our gullets. Or not. Probably not.

By the time everyone over 40 is dead, there will probably be some really really nasty porn as well.

while i can agree with you fully how games based around a female protagonist will generally have her appeal to the male audience despite being 47% of the gaming industry and that in all logical scenarios the women would be decked out in just as much armor as the men... i can't take you seriously with a username of "tittylovin" and you're complaining about tits

Apparently I am not the only one who can spot the irony in Mr tittylovin complaining about tits.

Well, this is a bit of a touchy subject. At first, yes I believe it was as a sex symbol, because when video games first came out, games were purely for boys, only a sliver of the population was girls. So yeah, thats how it started.

As video games progress, only certain games still have pin-up girls in their games. (Mostly games based off of older games (Tomb Raider) and games that are trying to appeal to males (Such as lolipop chainsaw, xblades, and heavenly blades(All of which didn't do too well))

At this point in time, the pin up girl games are being used less and less due to the fact that more girls are playing and the companies don't want to seem against women empowerment.
