Just imagine lord of the rings, with better acting (my opinion) better voice acting script cast and storyline. Now expand it to 10 episodes of 1 hour each, 2 seasons + a 3rd season on progress, there you go. It talks about the struggle for power on a fantastic realm. Hope ive been of help my good sir.

Mad Men wouldn't be linear then, because it jumps around. Are you saying "Are there flashbacks?"

MLP is not like any other kid's show because at the end of every episode there is no "reset" button. I think there is one episode made up of flashbacks (cutie mark origins) So...not linear? Sorry if I didn't answer your question :P

i mean does each episode have to do with each other directly in a chronological order or would it make sense if you watched it backwards (like spongebob for example)

You could watch them out of order and still get a full experience. When my bro introduced it to me a couple months ago, I watched the second season first and the first season second.

Also, imho, the second season is better! :D
