I've read the books, and I can't wait for the next season. I know what happens, but that doesn't matter. Game of Thrones is an excellent tv-show, and honours the author by bringing his story and litterature to a larger audience. For me and many others watching the show is not about the plot and all the twists, but seeing great litterature being adapted into a great tv-show. Also, you're kinda implying that adaptions of books are for braindead people, which is bullshit. Are the Lord of the Rings movies for braindead people? What about tv-shows like The Wire, Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead? It's entertainment, and people should be allowed to enjoy it, without being called braindead because they haven't read the books.
And if you need one reason to watch the show, Peter Dinklage is the one.

Yeah, without a doubt, most adaptations from those things are for braindead people unable to read a book and use their minds properly. Hollywood shit shat straight into the big or the small screen for the (current) mankind.
If you think that is bullshit... we know what you like on your plate.

Plus, its a great way to recap on the events of previous books that may be fading in memory a bit. That and waiting for the damn 6th book

Differences from the books =/= fucking up
The books should be looked upon as books. The books are awesome.
The tv-show should be looked upon as excactly that, a tv-show. And the tv-show is awesome. At least so far the changes they've made has worked excellently in the show. Like Arya and Tywin (gave really some depth to the character), Daenery's storyline was way more exciting, and the battle of Blackwater was the most epic thing ever seen on tv. Sure some changes weren't that good, but you have to understand why some of them were made. It's a tv-show. A direct adaption of the books would not be as good on the screen.

Differences from the books = fucking up.
If you have the option of doing things great, or follow your own ego and making them bad... second option is by definition, fucking up.
And I know what I'm saying. If there was anyone able to write a better plot or storyline than the writer, he/she would be writing books. Not working on tv.

I originally thumbed this down due to my hatred for ponys but then I watched it was amazed at how well done the intro spoof was, I don't feel so much hate anymore for kind brony so I came back to thumb you up.
