Stating that everyone "has the right to play games, criticize games and make games without
getting harassed or threatened", some of the biggest names in gaming have put their names to
an open letter addressing the community conflict that' s been so prominent online over the past
few weeks.

If that's the case, they should probably start with themselves first. You can't say we have to stop being insulting with one hand and then use the other to call us all terrorists.

Listen I dislike Zoe and her supporters as much as the next guy, but this article is'nt wrong you know... we can (and most of us do) find a way to criticize without sending death threats.

I mean that's reasonable right?

Say what you will about "big news", but if a scandal like this was discovered, It would have been dealt with something like this:
1. the offending journalists would have been suspended the DAY the **** storm began, and most of his co-workers would be put under increased scrutiny.
2. a committee of lawyers would approve a legal statement basically stating "he may have ****** up so we kicked him pending further investigation, he is not affiliated with us anymore unless he is found innocent."in an attempt to draw fire toward the journalist and not them.
3.if a journalist started a flame war on twitter, you bet your ass he'd be making a public apology the next day, regardless of who was "right". Maybe her job would have been suspended too for some groups.
4. If they decided to try censoring they would have done it with lawyers and not with SJW moderators. (its a sad truth, but at least they would be a bit more professional)
5. And I bet some even better agencies would have started a "secret inquisition" among their staff to clean up anything that might be bad for face, if they hadn't started it. (For Christ sake, A friend who works for a small city paper told me she thought her e-mails were being read! This whole Zoe issue would have likely been stopped before it even happened.)

Never mind journalistic integrity, this would have been done to preserve face. How these websites think this would help them in any way is beyond me.

That letter really didn't get to the point. No one gives a **** WHO plays games, but when journalists who are payed to review games get their dicks sucked for a higher rating....

Hold on a second, I'm not sure I'm reading the meaning behind this letter correctly. Basically they're trying to stay completely neutral and are just telling both sides to play nice?

Reading between the lines: NSA will take the right to scan and record every conversation you have on Steam, Bioware, etc forums. Just in case you are a potential terrorist. Potential Terrorist = Normal Human Being. NSA gets more funding by 'finding' more terrorists, or more 'human beings', whilst letting the government be terrorized by the FED, the one who 'gives' loan money to them. Circle of life ,,, into the dirt.

you know i don't give 1 flying **** about the opinions of video game developers regarding how they think the video game community should be policed. In the end we have a right to our own opinion, we have a right to critisize games (being that they are artistic in nature), articles (being that everyone has their own opinion on what was written), and the writers (specially if they have no journalistic integrity and by all means should never work for another news website, or any other news provider). if they don't like it then they don't have to produce games, they can be childish and say they'll never develop another game because gamers "don't deserve it" and jump on the phil fish financially sinking boat.

i think the letter is pretty correct.

all the people commenting like that (on both sides) should get an old fashioned ass whooping for their missing manners.
