damn I miss rapture era bioshock. infinite was meh. tried too hard to be all "inter conflicting time travel **** yo thoughts ***** " instead of a actual developed story with a end.

The moral of bioshock isnt that capitalism is evil, its that capitalism without religion to keep it in balance is flawed.
(Ayn Rand was an Atheist Capitalist)
The moral of Infinite was that religion without freedom (capitalism) is also flawed.

You need both. (Although religion could just mean a public moral system, not necessarily Christianity.)

Not at all, in fact it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever to say religion has any neccesity in politics, let alone capitalism.

The point was that Andrew Ryan wanted to create an utopia based on objectivism and meritocracy where only geniuses, experts, ambitionists and breakthrough artists lived and weren't bound by authoritarians. The problem is that because there was only one class system that consisted of the best and bright individuals they refused to do lower class labour that requires little education such as cleaning and maintance.

tl;dr it wasn't the lack of religion that caused the collapse of rapture, it was the imbalance between higher and lower class jobs and the refusal of a society of geniuses to do mundane tasks. If it wasn't for that rapture would've probably been a massive success.

Have you ever considered what happens to Little Sisters if you free them? Yeah, sure, they escape to Tannenbaum's hideout, but what happens after that? Rapture only has a limited number of submarines, and what good would it do if they leave at all? These kids have seen and done some truly ********* **** , and furthermore will have no families to speak of outside of Rapture.

Is freeing them really the "good" option?

I think that's what Ryan kinda became though, He was the perfect example of someone with a God complex. He didn't want his people to give him taxes or the sort, he saw himself as a fair God who didn't need to take from his people and that every person could be anything without so much government intervention.

That's why when someone tried to take his place he went so damn crazy, when he saw someone who could directly compete with him i.e. Fontaine who was also beloved by the people of Rapture.

To put it one way Bioshock is ******* kickass
