I been playing fallout new vegas for so long that I can't stand play it anymore. I beat every quest, done every story line, and unlocked every achievement in the game. One of my most favorite games and i really miss playing it

It's the sad yet inevitable curse of bethesda games. I use to play Skyrim nonstop and did what you said, but when i got that platinum trophy, my interest was lost and was at where you are.

I'm on my like seventh complete playthrough, almost each time with a different SPECIAL and build, and always with different mods, this game is probably the best ever

They each have their strengths gameplay mechanics in my opinion are much better in NV but the story in 3 is far superior, as is the amount of area to be discovered
All in all if you weigh the pros and cons I believe them to be on equal standing for great games

Dis ***** right here. is wrong.
NV was the clearly better game in terms of story and gameplay. However, It was extremely lacking in atmosphere. In fallout 3 there was something new everywhere you went, and the new areas always had a story to them, marked or unmarked. In NV however, there was mostly just desert. Nothing else. In fact, some locations literally had nothing in them. There's one y black mountain where there's just an open shack. no story, nothing to loot, just a shack. In fallout 3, locations that were empty had a hidden story behind them, perhaps in a holotape in a different area, or were part of a later quest. In NV, there are some empty areas that DO have a story behind them, but you can only find this story in a comic or book (In real life) that many people don't have in their possession, like chances map and such. Overall though, I think the gameplay and story make up for new vegasses emptiness and make it better than 3.

i know they upgraded'd a lot of the weapons and other mechanics but the story to fallout 3 was much more compelling. The Kid form Vault 101 against the wastes, purifying water and kicking ass.

Not really no, but you may want to read up on some of the lore to get why they are at that tech level but seem oddly not advanced in culture.

I miss my fallout 3 on xbox 360...i actually enjoyed playing it, not having to worry about OOOH WHAT MOD CAN I GET (mods are awesome and all, but some great games can do without, and are fun without, mods for me are there to extend the gameplay, or enhance, but some games dont need that, you can still do that, but its a great game even without)

Guys please help me out. I have never played any of the Fallout series but i heard they are really awesome.and i want to buy one. Do you need to play Fallout in order to understand the campaign(story) or not. And which Fallout is better 3 or New vegas?

No, each one is completely stand-alone, though they do make references to each other and it's kinda cool when you can recognize the references.

I played Fallout 3 first (it was just the one out at the time) and I'm glad I did. I got really connected with my character and almost felt like I was him. Fallout NV gameplay is better, but I think it lacked the connection you get to the character.

But that's just me.

I played 3 first, and couldn't figure out where to go, or how the mechanics functioned. Then I played NV, loved it, and went back and enjoyed 3. They're both great games, but I think NV is better overall.

In my opinion 3, and no you don't have to play one to understand the other but its more fun that way.

They are not really that interconnected, you should be able to play each one separately and not have to worry about the story. However, like Maroon said, they are loaded with references to the older games, and there is some lore that carries on through the series- again, this shouldn't be an issue to someone new to the series. As for which one to get, I will say this. Fallout: New Vegas has more polished gameplay mechanics and some new features which are very nice to have. On the other hand, Fallout 3 has an overall better storyline.

GTA IV is a really bad port for pc. If you don't have a supercomputer you can often get disconnected from multiplayer games simply because " Your computer is running too slow "
