example of good strategy: "if i hide my light cavalry in this small forest, while marching a distraction unit straight at them, just barely small enough for them to think they can win, then place my archers in these bushes, just in range of the upcoming battle, i can surround them and rain arrows down on them, breaking their morale and win a decicive victory with almost no losses..."

my strategy: "if i throw enough soildiers at them, their superior training and defenses will eventually be overrun by the sheer amount of troops...
that or they will drown in our blood.
either way, i win."

kinda referring to the imperial guard from warhammer 40k
their battle strategy is to throw soildiers at the enemy untill they drown in their blood.
they always win, simply because they so massively outnumber their enemy
the enemy could kill 100 imperial guardsmen for every enemy dead, and they'd still lose
because the imperial guard has several billion soildiers at any given moment, and they just keep deploying more and more untill they've won.

The zerg player's banelings outnumber the protoss army. But the protoss player has amazing micro, traps all of the banelings with forcefields (sentry). Then he uses the high templar to create a psi storm in the forcefields. Effectively killing all the banelings.
I hope you know what I'm talking about when I say all these strange words...

When it's a war strategy like Starcraft or Supreme Commander, I play highly defensively, build up everything, barely explore stuff like that. If it's a game like Civilization or Alpha Centauri (Multiple ways), I'll always be a pacifist, and go for culture/science victories

The one time i try to be passive in a game of civilization, i was declared war on by three different nations at the same time for being weak. Which i admit i did have a small army, but i always have a very strong economy so i was rich, and bought a bunch of units and wiped them all out without mercy.

I don't think I've ever been friendly with Catherine in a game, it'd always end up with me and her at a thousand long year cold war until she finally attacks me because my army looks weak, obviously from the fact that I'm pacifistic, but then I start building, and like you my superior technology allows me to get the upper hand.

On another note, I've never been friendly with Ramses either, and I'm always friendly with Napoleon until he betrays me.
