The Orcs were never really evil, first they were manipulated into thinking the Draenei wanted to kill them and then they were given demon blood which corrupted them and made them hella bloodthirsty, putting them under the control of Mannoroth. Didn't help that the leader of the Orcs, Gul'Dan, actually was evil.
All I'm saying is Metzen loves the horde, we know that. That's why when he needs to make a conflict it's always like "Oooh, the orcs were brainwashed or our leader is corrupt, and are actually good guys, but now the alliance hates them and are total dicks towards them."
More ofthen than not it's actually the alliance that are assholes towards the horde, because they don't see the big picture.
Technically the horde were the bad guys in the first invasion because they weren't really in control of themselves, more so they were manipulated to weaken azeroth for the legion.
its called Warcraft: "The beginning" so im assuming its when the orcs first emerge from the dark portal, blizzard always made each side look like the bad guys to the opposing side, but from what i remember the orcs were very hostile when they first arrived in Azeroth, but at the same time the humans were very hostile towards them from the get go.
i haven't followed warcraft closely, but i see people complain about thrall being turned into green jeesus by chris metzen, and how the writers make it out like "horde diddndu nuffin". either me, or you, are way off here, ravemouse.
The Horde being evil wasn't so much the Horde itself but more of the fact a corrupt leader took over and the Alliance and non-corrupt part of the Horde teamed up to take him out.
We've had ORCS ORCS ORCS ORCS ORCS ORCS ORCS ever since Cataclysm
Even MoP turned into ORCS ORCS ORCS ORCS
Then the newest one is Warcraft: The Orcening
