pi x 32,000,000^2 = 3.2x10^15 square meters
32,000,000 is about equal to 20,000 miles.
Which would make Minecraft about 1,256,637,061 square miles

bothemastaofall (02/09/2013) [-] Definition of a circle means that the perimeter is equidistant from the center at all points. If the center is spawn, and you can go 32million meters maximum in any direction, that means that 32milion is a radius. If it was a square, 32million would be half the length of one of the sides. If it were a square, it would have corners, which would be further from center than 32million meters, which I'm assuming is not possible.
Let me say this. If I were to walk straight on the positive y-axis for 32million meters, I would hit the end. Now say I return to spawn, and I proceed to go the opposite direction, but this time I go plus or minus 45 degrees in either direction. IF it were a square, I should now be able to go more than 32 million meters in that direction, because I would be heading to one of the corners of the square. This is not possible. 32million is max distance, in ANY DIRECTION.

gunzas (02/10/2013) [-] As much as i'm aware the units in minecraft are measured only for the X,Y,Z... su goin 30 million x; and 30 million y; would provide you with sqrt(30^2+30^2) which is more than 32? Though i don't know how exactly minecraft percieves distance enabling debug mode only gives x;y;z and i'm pretty sure THOSE can't exceed 32 mil.
