Just like last week, I will be taking the weekend off to catch up on the next parts of this series.

Also, please try not to submit trivia to me via the comment section, it's hard to keep track of all the trivia posted there.

<Also, here's a teaser for part 19!

In Left 4 Dead, there was a special infected that would replace the boomer called the screamer, the screamer would wander around the map and when confronting survivers it would scream and run around the map creating its own crescendo event much like the boomer until it was killed. the enemy was then replaced due to the difficulty of chasing the screamer.

Apparently, Bungie has said that there are still tons more easter eggs for us to find in all of their games.

Here's an idea, man - have trivia contests - on a board or something at a specific time. Based on your past posts; do em every 10 comps I guess.
Winner gets, I dunno, a mention in your next post. The prize could use some work.
User avatar #260 to #250 - clockworkseven **User deleted account** (08/11/2013) [-]
Good idea, I just can't think of what to do for the actual contest.

Do I do Jeopardy? Do I ask questions? Do I ask them to pick a number?

I don't know what to do...

I've seen it a few ways that seems to work on other sites. It would be so much easier if we had a general, live funnyjunk chat, a site I'm on calls it a shoutbox.

Ask one question at a time, the first person to answer it gets a point, person with the most points wins.

(option 1) You could make a post with all the questions, have people message you the answers and have the person who gets them all right in the fastest amount of time wins. But, with google it's kinda iffy. That's the main problem, google exists.

(option 2) You would most likely be swamped to hell with answers, which is why you could ask questions one at a time in a comment, the first person to answer wins that question. But then it comes to keeping track of who has what points.

Do whatever works for you, man - whatever you have time for. Option 1 lets people use google which isn't any fun (you could REQUEST that they don't, but you'll always have that one douchebag) for everyone involved. On the other hand, you could just make a post and let people go, and come back to the answers later. But your inbox would be full as hell.

Option 2 makes it less easy for people to do research on the question, but takes up more of your time and effort. ]

I guess, if you wanted, you could have people roll numbers, and if they get a pre-determined number first they have the opportunity to compete - but then there is the decision of whether to do it in the comments, where others can interfere, or via message, where it's not as public and thus not as fun.

You also could see what other people have to say - people who know a little more about FJ than I do, i'm new - they might be able to think of a way to manipulate the mechanics i don't know about.

There was a special infected made in the beginning of L4D, even before The Hunter and all of that, it was called The Screamer.
The Screamer would run from Survivors, hide, then let out a scream attracting the Horde (which after scrapping was used as The Hunter's beginning pounce); but he was removed because game testers found it too difficult to locate and kill him before he could summon a Horde.

pic related, its The Screamer's concept art.

It's not the first time I've seen this repeat a previous comp.

I remember playing zombie mod on CSS years ago. Was so much fun and forced people to explore every map looking for "hard to get to" spots to use as their last stand.
