We do need a bit of innovation in the games and it must change if not we come down with a case of COD.
#14 to #10 - John Cena (01/30/2013) [-]
To be fair, they're real changing up the graphics which, as we've already seen will be doing more to change up gameplay outside of battles and making the battles themselves feel a lot more dynamic.
User avatar #44 to #14 - whyfalsewhy (01/31/2013) [-]
Yeah i agree. but that's what i'm saying we get major improvements each game because they don't have the if it aint broke attitude.

If it ain't broke, break it

If it ain't real, fake it
If it ain't yours, take it
If it's gone to sleep, you wake it
If it ain't broke, break it

MEAT LOAF - "IF IT AINT BROKE BREAK IT"!

I agree with very little of this.

The starters have to be those types they always have been and they are effective against 1/3 of other types each making them the best types to start with, i would like to see a game like yellow though where you get one then get all 3 starters.

There is more strategy to the game than you would think, you have your status effects and highering and lowering of stats, this coupled with type advantages / disadvantages and various moves makes the game strategic,** if you know what you are doing.**

The random encounter system has been changed as much as it can be unless they add a new type of route such as a sky route, and even then it would moreless be something like clouds relpaceing grass or just like caves.

User avatar #20 to #9 - shiningfinger (01/30/2013) [-]
The game itself isnt strategic at all. Just be at a higher level and you can tear through the whole game easily.

Competitive battling, on the other hand, is very strategic
User avatar #22 to #20 - foliap (01/30/2013) [-]
actually, in black/white 2, you can unlock hard mode, which is hard as **** , and really does require a lot of strategy.
#21 - foliap (01/30/2013) [-]
>Same typed starters
It works well as it is, and is an easy concept to introduce to newcommers, as opposed fighting/dark/psychic. and may end up happening as secondary typing in later evolutions if the hints have any truth to them.
> Strategy free
In the game itself, there are forms of strategy. but there is a whole metagame, which contains a huge amount of stratagy, when facing real people.
>turned based
but it's a turned based rpg. op, and dorkly
>Random encounters.
I dunno about this one, but it would make things a lot harder for competitive players who need to ev train and all.

overall, you must remember this is supposed to be a kid-friendly game, which is why the current formula has worked so well.
Also remember, the 3ds as of yet, cannot be hacked, emulated or cheated on, which means the games will be much more mysterious and unknown in their content.
User avatar #37 to #21 - SognaVetr (01/30/2013) [-]
About 3ds not being emulated yet... Well: You need to login to view this link
User avatar #38 to #37 - foliap (01/30/2013) [-]
that's not real, that downloads malware or something.
#39 to #38 - SognaVetr (01/30/2013) [-]
lol, okay. Still, it's only a matter of months before one pops up.
User avatar #40 to #39 - foliap (01/30/2013) [-]
I don't think that soon. eventually, but for a while the games will be completely blind in revealing info, and even with possible dlc content now. nintendo went all out in making it so the 3ds is very hard to hack. even when they do, a lot of ds games lag horribly on an emulator during 3d scenes. I imagine it will be much worse on a 3ds emulator.
User avatar #28 to #21 - aerius (01/30/2013) [-]
If anything the metagame is TOO deep, it's a massive bitch to get a pokemon that's actually competitive raised without a save editor.
Pokemon is also one of the few games where random encounters don't feel that bad, since they generally only happen in tall grass, although in dungeons it takes the piss a bit.

You are absolutely right, especially "strategy-free" made me rage... I've never played another RPG (as you said, it's a turn-based RPG!) that has more strategy, once you put some time and effort into it!

But they're innovative for pokemon games, bringing it to 3D.

I thought it was a solid improvement.
User avatar #23 - rockerrocksixty (01/30/2013) [-]
no, they expect the same results each time; lots of money.
User avatar #12 - Tiblets (01/30/2013) [-]
Why attack Pokemon when you can attack Call of Dooty?

I was just implying that if someone were to be attacking someone as this artist has, they should at least aim towards the thing that pulls of the subject matter the best (or worst?).
User avatar #35 - dipshitz (01/30/2013) [-]
It's not insanity. They're making the same thing over again to reach the original goal, make money. They aren't seeking innovation. OP is a fag
#30 - John Cena (01/30/2013) [-]
they dont want things to change. lol

also Einstein said that pointed at himself as he would re do equations over and over to make sure they were correct. but this far cry 3 misquoted **** has kindof made it lose its meaning

And why are people picking on Nintendo for making the same game, yet Treyarch does the same exact thing and gets absolutely no flak for it what so ever?
#41 - John Cena (01/30/2013) [-]
"Strategy free?" I beg to differ. If you play competitively, at least.
User avatar #36 - taintedangel (01/30/2013) [-]
It's now 3D. That enough innovation for pokemon
#33 - remsaman (01/30/2013) [-]
as much as i love nintendo, i cant help but notice some 'insanity' creeping onto the shelves lately.
User avatar #32 - Ropyx (01/30/2013) [-]
You can say anything about pokemon X e Y, but never say that is the same as the other pokemons, i have 20 years and i have every single game, this is the first game with solid innovation, and people of my age were waiting for a game like this for ages;
#45 to #32 - hinrik (02/19/2013) [-]
People your age? You are pretty sad if you play Pokemon at the age 20. The faggots that still play it at the age of 20 can feel free to thumb me down, I dont really give a **** .

Thinking of buying FC3, but I really hated FC2...driving through the jungle, killing bushmen, seeing a diamond, fetch that, do a minor quest, driving through the same hood i just cleansed only to see them respawned. Didnt stand more than 8 game hours. Im a huge fan of open-world/RP and FPS games. Do you reccomend it, for a guy who couldnt stand FC2?
#8 to #5 - John Cena (01/30/2013) [-]
Buy it. No more malaria no more diamond garbage the world is actually explained a bit before just throwing you in. I played maybe 10 hours far cry 2. Beat far cry it was amazing, the story, the hunting, the stealth and the insanity.
#6 to #5 - John Cena (01/29/2013) [-]
