No it's from when he had a more serious bout of cancer. He is dealing with it again, and it has a high mortality rate. The problem is that the data is skewed from old people who didn't get correct treatment. He is getting the best treatment possible.

Totalbiscuit is in the stage of cancer that is terminal, so 100% mortality rate. It has a poor prognosis, average survival time of 1.5-2years with treatment.
He is optimistic that he can beat the average, but the cancer will be fatal sooner or later as there is no chance to cure it at this stage.

What happened is that the cancer had metastasized from his colon to his liver where it became inoperable.
It's treatable but ultimately fatal.
He was given a death sentence.
It's sad that he will die so early.
