I forgot that I have to be very specific with you people. As far as character from Bioware what I meant was how they are presented. You have various dialog options plus you are not limited by a silent protagonist who's only options are yes no and maybe. The more you get to know the characters the more options you have such as loyalty missions which unlock extra perks for those characters. So no I'm not saying the game should be full of tumblr approved characters. What I'm saying is I really dig how can interact with characters in Bioware's RPGs
Some just focus too much on their sexuality first before exploring other traits. Like sera she there only to be a option for a lebian relationship. Krem who dresses like a man because she can do anything a man can and is considered to be a man by her commends. Now Dorrian who is the gay chracter is actually one of the best companions in the game. He is actually written like a person not a sexual identity like Cortez in Mass Effect. I actually considered going gay for him in my first play through. Anyway for this game bioware just really but focus on pointing out chracterz sexual orientation and why it's super important.
dark souls 2 with dark souls 1 movement dark souls 2 move sets and speed and parrying then demons souls bosses and puzzles and fallout 4s building or minecraft which ever and less op bosses then minecraft tekkits crafting
i took me 10 tries to get that weapon i ended up going offline and finding out that world tendency changes for online my offline tendency was pure white for every area
I dunno... After a certain point it's just annoying. The scenery and such in Dark Souls awesome, but I find I don't pay attention to the story half the time and the combat gets dull rather quickly. Hit, roll roll roll, hit, roll roll roll, hit hit, roll, hit, roll roll roll, die, repeat.
To make that Bloodborne, just to hit, roll roll, stab self with needle.....
I like the games, but overall Elder Scrolls and Dragon Age's gameplay I find more enjoyable when I just want to relax, smoke a bowl and play a game.
You just say that because you finally got to the pvp arena and got your first match with a bootyhole havel with a monestary scimitar, climax, spikey blue blade and spikey blue balls
I mean, i don't like to be hand fed, it wasn't just the difficulty that i didn't like since you can always git gud i just didn't like the combat style. I generally don't like fighting games. Also i think for a game as difficult as DS more frequent checkpoints would be nice b/c I would get so far die, then not want to go back through all that **** again and stop playing.
....then why would you buy a game revolving around fighting? i mean teh magic is pretty freaking sweet, i found in 1 it was sorta...hard, to start with magic, but made it a lot easier to since it was so strong, pyro magic mainly
I didn't buy it, won it in a bet. The bet was my friend had to beat all DOOMs (minus 3) on nightmare in one sitting, and I had to beat Dark Souls, loser bought the other the game. I've done the DOOM one, He's beaten DarkSouls. Beat the DOOMS at my a family get-together
Love both games, but DD is more suited to fighting larger foes while DS is more about fighting semi human foes. When you fight a dragon in DD you have to climb it hold on for dear life and find it weak spot in order to damage it. in DS you have to give it a pedicure or acupuncture with countless arrows. I jut find it more thrilling taking monster on shadow of the colossus style
Iunno. People probably dislike it because the gameplay is supposedly shallow. But the graphics in it are ******* amazing and i don't know what people are on about.
I'd suggest gameplay videos. It's a little too weak to be fighting in the RPG tournament with games like Skyrim and Dark Souls so the reviews show that. But's its gameplay its the real diamond in the rough.
DD Online isn't. Source: Playing it right now. Partyfinder keeps matching me with ******* scrubs though, which is the only annoying thing. How do these ******* people reach level 30 without realising they have to dodge attacks?
Like yeah, sure, but blowing **** out of proportion is not valid at all. You know what's actually pushing the gay agenda? Having that Cortez guy who's just plainly written just for the sake of male homosexual. Or worse, turning Kaiden gay.
Dragon Age Inquisition? I don't really think so. If it is pushing, that's just the secondary objective. The first? Making good companions. Like Dorian, the sassy mage everyone loves. Is him being gay the focus? I don't think so. His character is all about a man who's trying to change his countrymen, his sass is just from him brimming with ego and narcissism. Even his personal quest didn't feel like pushing any agenda, but an actual estranged father/son moment.
Sera is annoying as **** at first, but its most likely on purpose, since she gets better through the game.
Still, I would choose Bioware's DA team ( **** Hudson and Walters from ME) as the companion aspects for a dream RPG game, but characters overall should be written by CD Projekt RED.
I'm a gay guy and i played as female Shepard because the only character i was interested on getting it on with was Garrus Mother ******* Vakarian. Easily one of the most enjoyable characters to be around.
I didnt like cortez or kaiden since it seemed too forced. Cortez was just added in to tick a box and was the most uninteresting character in the game and i never really liked kaiden other than a 'he looks pretty hot' standpoint.
If the character is well made then i dont care what they are although it would be nice if i wasnt forced to change my character just to romance the person i like most but i dont mind it. You wouldent expect everyone to be gay or bi in real life so you cant expect it in a story either.
Dude, this game is my **** . I'm getting it when it comes out for the PC (I think it's this spring?). Loved playing this **** , will be even better with nicer graphics and audio.
Also I never got Dark Arisen, so It'll actually give me some new **** too.
I would buy Dragons Dogma 2 in a heartbeat if they made it.
i unfortunately didn't like the game, I rarely piss on graphics but for a 360 game it looked like a Launch title instead of a what, 2013 title? I thought it looked bad and I really wanted to like it but it looked and felt, weird... I was very mixed about it...
Im not one to rebuy games on other systems, but I'm full blown getting it for Computer when it comes out next year. Too many great things about the game.
I'm a console fag, but I'm totally okay with that. I get my RPG fill just fine. And I could play DD so many goddamn times. I do wish there was like a couple different endings, better character development, etc, but the combat system alone makes me spontaneously ejaculate.
compared to oblivion and morrowind, yea, its pretty, but it was made to sell more copies than it was to be a deep story. especially if you can fire through the main quest in less than a work day, not including about a week to master every guild AND get all your skills maxed, depending on your build.
You do realize that world building and lore is NOT gameplay or game mechanics, right? Skyrim is extremely lore rich, arguably even more than Morrowind. It's just subtle. When you start to dig and look for hidden meanings it really opens up.
and it needs to be complex, its like having a 5 inch deep ocean. its plenty wide, theres plenty to look for, but if its as deep as your ankle, wheres the fun without the risk.
Nice meaningless analogy, let's continue it.
It sounds like you're bragging about being an Olympic swimmer while wading in the kiddie pool with floaties.
Have you really dived in?
i started back in daggerfall. hell, i have an app on my phone that has literally all the lore on it, except for some reason the khajiit skin seller.
skyrim is easily the most dumbed down version thus far. ive read the lore ranging from the dragonborn being a splintered piece of akatosh, to theories that the entire ES universe takes place in the dreams of a greater being. morrowind was complex but limited by its technology at the time, oblvion got the ball rolling towards a bigger market, and skyrim just polished it off and gave everyone floaties.
Lore is one thing but the game itself is streamlined garbage. I'm autistic over WoW lore but I don't even play the game anymore because the game itself has been reduced to a shallow husk of its former self.
It's the same with Fallout 4. I'm barely hanging onto the game through finding lore terminals and spending 2/3 of my time streamlining settlements. There's really nothing going for the game other than that.
Gameplay complicated, but satisfying no matter the outcome of the battle. No ******** one-shot bosses. But the more you level up, the more the enemies become experienced and complicated to fight. Example, they parry more, they dodge more
In depth classes and builds. Making it almost impossible for two different people to have the same build unless they specifically build the same purposely.
Great Co-op. Allow a friend to join and do stuffs in a large map.
Story where you're just a nobody.
I don't want that bethesda **** where you're the hero of kvatch, the dragonborn, the chosen one and all that stuff. You're just some asshole that woke up in a field at one point. Kind of how Destiny starts you off. You earn the titles.
Race and gender actually matter to NPCs. That would be great and immersive. inb4 blocking content to players who don't play that species, every species has their own special things. Encouraging multiple playthroughs and different stories.
Factions actually matter. Skyrim example, If you join the Dark Brotherhood, the companions will catch wind of your things and refuse to help you or even speak to you. Same with the college.
Raids, gain and train multiple followers to assist you in really hard, long, and complex quests, or say **** it and invite your friends to do it co-op.
-When in Co-op -
- If the host completes a mission during co-op, the guest also has it completed and visa versa. So that it feels like the people playing with you actually exist in your game instead of just helping you.
- The option for a co-op story mode. Where you can only "free roam" the map but being unable to accept quests until the other player is with you.
- quests can only be done if both players are actually doing it. To avoid new players just sitting in a town and then suddenly being unable to do a quest because their friend decided to do it again easily.
- Inspired by destiny, quest related areas are leveled with the highest leveled player. And experience gained, while in co-op, is capped. So that a level 100 can't powerlevel a new player by killing one enemy and then suddenly the new player is level 10. And to make sure the higher level can't simply plow through the quests for the lower leveled player. It's to encourage people playing at the same time and as a team. Don't get me wrong about the XP thing, the low level player will still gain the XP, but only the XP gained for killing something 4 levels higher than you, instead of 90 levels higher.
- If playing co-op, enemies are more challenging, which encourages working together as a team.
If you disliked anything above, it's my fantasy game, not yours. This might never happen. Also, play single player if you hate it so much
Wait whats the matter with Bioware? never played any of the dragon age games but Im a die hard Talimass effect fan so I'm kinda curios to see why you hate them
It's long list of things usually steam lined by a compilation made by /v/. But here's some highlights.
-Rather than improving a mechanic they just out right remove it ; See the mako
-Mass effect started as a series to show humans aren't and should be so special in sci-fi, the mass effect ended with humans being the missing peice in a millenia upon mellenia old mystery
-combat became less engaging with every iteration of dragon age, though funny enough it's the opposite with mass effect
-they SWTOR as mean to retcon anything obsidian did with KOTOR
-their animator and environmental devs need some series help or a new job
-characters suddenly personalities do 180s for no reason save because the plot demands it ; Wrex being extremely reasonable in 1&2 and understanding that for his people to survive they must slow down on crime and war especially with the threat of the reapers looming, then in 3 he threatens war with council right as the reaper show up.
-anything involving the reapers or prothieans after 1
-immense pandering to tumblr crowd ; before you say it, yes pandering to anyone is bad. But it negatively effects your writing when every good aliegned party member is gay or bi and has very progressive views
-the gay wizard from Inquisition, or really just how his loyalty mission is "be my safe space while I yet at my dad for not accepting me for being gay". Any other mission would have been fine, but they stapled on the generic issue for a gay character
No I didn't. Because you were thinking of characters from obsidian games. They're character's opinions vary depending on the player's alignment, faction, time with them. Bioware characters may pipe up every so often if ya, I don't burn down an orphanage, but continue on their merry way like nothing happened. Obsidian characters will leave your side if you do something they don't like or you join a faction they hate.
Elder Scrolls lore is fantastic, the best as far as I'm concerned. Dragon's Dogma had a really fun gameplay, but characters by the inquisition team? Really? Did you even meet Sera? ****** atrocious.
Well it more about Bioware's character interaction I was after really you know dialog option/romance/loyalty missions. Also I thought the characters were all right. A lot of them were deeper than they seemed. (Vivian/ Blackwall) While some were just there to be total bros (Verric/Iron Bull) as far Sara yeah she was probably the worst out of the characters there (save for Solas but that was pretty much on purpose you weren't suppose to like him) but I still felt guilty whe I hit it a quit it so they must have done some thing right.
yeah, but in inqusition the character interaction was the ******* worst of all the Bioware games. I mean there plenty good Bioware character interaction like jade Empire, Kotor 2(which in my opinion has the best character interaction) or neverwinter nights 2.
why pick the worst of the lot?
I only played a little bit of Inquisition and the characters did seem a little breezy.
I would say Origins characters, that was half of the reason the game was so immersive, the characters seemed actually believable.
I really hope they make another Dragon Age, with the spirit and also, game play ( the more action orientated approach they took with DA:2 & Inquisition didn't feel right to me, at least) of Origins.
>Want tumblr age writers anywhere near dogma's awesome mix of dark souls and shadow of colossus gameplay.
I can understand the amount of lore in elder scrolls, but holy **** the characters from bioware are just "hur hur, i'mma the gay guy" tier that rivals borderlands in awful.
never mind bull's voice actor breaking accent every other sentence. Never mind the **** he only ever talks about is either his dick or killing something, nothing else. Never mind Krem, who has a word for what it is in qunari, a society that TELLS YOU WHAT YOU ARE, ONE THAT IS EXTREMELY SEX-ROLE AND ZERO CHOICE, SUDDENLY HAS A WORD FOR TRANS PEPS. No, all of that, the zero character development quest he has that changes him for one cutscene and then he goes back to average self.
If they only changed character backgrounds and personalities. Instead of the generic "I'm related to X and am a vassal of Y", maybe add random traits based off their background (ex: raised to be a knight, so they could be chivalrous or arrogant) so that they'll offer different types of quests and gain/lose respect based on how you interact with people when you're around them. I don't really see any other way they could change it without messing up what Mount and Blade's all about.
Sooo, the world is filled with NPCs that can be attacked but often won't die except at certain parts in certain quests and 90% of the characters are gay/bi/trans/etc
Skyrim lore is garbage compared to Morrowind lore, which was so good the series is still coasting on it. None of the people who worked on Morrowind are still with Bethesda in any official capacity.
I don't want my characters and story written by tumblr *********** . Bioware is absolute garbage now, and has been for years. All their good writers bled away because when they were told to be progressive and politically correct or hit the road, they hit the road.
I'll give you the last one. DD was pretty good.
You need better taste in writing and world design, foodyquest. Go play Diablo 2 or Morrowind with the essencial mods. Play Mass Effect 1 or KotOR II.
