Lol, "Illicite sexual relationship"
Why should anyone care about game journalisim? Stick to user feedback and comment.
Ultimatly, it's you whou choose if it was a good game or a bad one. Not some random guy who tells you what to buy.

TL;DR Version

If the community can't trust their sources, they'll turn to piracy, and gaming as we know it will take a huge hit because of it. (Elaborations in post #3)

It's not just about us. It's about the industry as a whole. Look at the traffic to Kotaku and those other sights and you'll see how many people are potentially influenced by their "journalism". This is bigger than just a few people deciding what game to buy. It's also big to the gaming industry. When people realize they can't trust their information sources anymore and there aren't any reliable gaming reviews for products that aren't written by sold out journalists, then more and more people will result to piracy to demo games they would potentially buy. And while the more honest people in the piracy community will buy a game if they enjoy playing it or spend significant time on it, other people won't bother purchasing when it is available for free. Very few people would want to go through that sort of trouble. Alas, if these things continue on for extended periods of time, not only will we see a large crash in the indie gaming community, but the mainstream gaming community will also take a huge hit. I don't think anyone wants to see games resort to intermedium advertisement to help finance their games. Imagine getting a pop up add inbetween levels, or videos playing in set intervals in your gaming sessions. Ech, i've gone on long enough. Hopefully you can see the possible effects things like this might actually have over the long term. Although it is not for certain that this will happen as I stated, it is absolutely a possibility.

buncha /b/ros getting banned from 4chinz for making threads about this. All the threads on 4chinz and any of the social media sites have been taken down and deleted faster than we can make them. They are completely censoring this and it's not even that big of a deal. We shouldn't let them censor it just because they want to so badly.

also a bunch of other sites are experiencing the same thing. she was taking down youtube videos of the scandal basically abusing her dmca rights and also there are a couple reddit threads related to the abuse of dmca and why its wrong/relevant/how its used to cover up **** that have been entirely deleted after a mod started talking to her

Holy ******* **** seriously this is so retarded.

Even if the ******* masons themselves backed that whore up they wouldn't have enough power to pull this off.

It is probably a big deal, perhaps just the lid of a very rancid pit. At the very least some people should end up without their job, and who knows how far this goes.

Not to mention the implication that certain games news sources are deliberately causing a ********* just to line their own pockets in the drama. Trying to tell you about morals while covering **** like this.
Affecting the direction within games industry aswell as damaging or downright destroying genuinely good intented initiatives.

This thing is really getting shoved down our throat isnt it? I just checked out the wikipedia page, where the harassment of Zoe Quinn is presented as absolute truth.
But any link to supposed proof that this happend is either a news article wherein quinn claims she was harrased or a tweet by quinn where she claims to be harrased.

No evidence whatsoever has been presented that this actually happend. And half the world pissed itself jumping to her defense.

All you have to do to get famous in this group is to be female, cry harrasment, and rake in the dough as the white knight brigade throws money at you without checking for facts.

a quick synopsis:

Girl game dev ***** game journalists for favorable reviews and multiple columns about her text based indie game: Depression Quest. Hey boyfriend tells the world of infidelity and in response girl game dev starts censoring any negative reviews on either her game or her character. When this invariably fails she cries 'sexism' and retreats to standard tumblr feminism.

********* ensues as now big journalism sites such as rock paper shotgun and Kotaku are now under fire for journalistic integrity.

What i never understood with people getting criticism for their work. There is that age old saying you can please some of the people some of the time, but you cant please all the people all the time. Like really make what you want and **** everybody else.

We can only hope that those involved lose their positions due to conflict of interest, or some other legal mumbo jumbo that would actually be applicable to this situation.

It's a bit silly that some people are claiming the process of indie game creation and advertisement of those game as being part of her personal life, even when her work isn't referred to.
