If the wind isn't too rough, you can leave the controls alone for about 5 minutes or so before you need to make corrections.

The difference between her and the other two is that her skin, lungs, etc. were charred to a ******* crisp. When she received the parasite, it colonized her voicebox AND her skin, but not her lungs. As such, the parasites made it so she can photosynthesize, absorb water, and breathe through her skin, so she doesn't have to open her mouth. Of course, because her lungs are ****** up, she can't breathe normally, and requires as much surface area as possible to remain aerobically active.
Of course, story reasons don't make it not fan-service. It's blatant fanservice, and they could've easily done without it, but hey, it's Kojima, what can ya do? If it really bothers you, just unlock the full-suit alt outfit for her.

But SON OF A BITCH, Getting that skin was the hardest part of the entire game. Later on when you unlock "Extreme Mode" versions of some of the missions, you get to redo her boss fight with the added catch that she Instant-kills you with all attacks, and aims/fires 3x as fast. During said "Extreme Mode" fight, she wears the Sniper Wolf Skin.
