It didn't, his teammate was downed and needed to be revived, but the hostage he was carrying needed to be escorted to safety.
So after mercy killing him he ran the hostage to extraction, winning the round.

It's Rainbow Six: Siege, but do you play AAA shooters? This one doesn't even look above average graphically. It's a decent game, the mechanics are fun and everything, but you shouldn't play without a group. It's not the least bit fun with people who are not communicating.
Have you played without coordination? I regularly get shot by panicking teammates, and communication helps you figure out where enemies are in a game that's hugely dependent upon cameras. The game looks good, sure, but so does every other AAA shooter. Call of Duty, while I dislike the franchise, looks far better. Halo and Battlefront are also far nicer looking. Since when was any criticism of a game (that I still think is good, just not great) outright rejected? Is it because I criticized a game instead of a platform?
