FALLOU f 4
The Sole Survivor of Vault 1 11 stumbled down the hill toward Sanctuary.
Her mind reeled. So many questions! Where was her son? Who had taken
him? Why was she so blinded by the sunlight when, from her perspective,
she' d only been in the Vault for a couple of minutes? It wasn' t like she' d
been in the Vault her entire life, raised there from a baby into adulthood,
right? She should be perfectly used to bright sunlight. And yet...
She climbed the rise into town. Maybe Sanctuary would provide some
desperately needed answers. Acting as anyone would in the same situation,
she ducked into a ruined house, picked the lock on a safe, tried on some
clothes she found in a suitcase, and pocketed several coffee cups, a burned
fashion magazine, and a broken lamp. She also ate some meat she' d picked
off the corpse of a giant, dead, irradiated insect. Eventually, she made it
to her own house. .
Wadsworth! It was astounding, but Wadsworth was still there, hovering
among the ruins! Honestly, she' d spotted him several minutes before, but
she' d wanted to collect more random garbage from other houses before
speaking to him.
Hello, Madam!" he greeted her brightly. Once again, she felt the familiar
pang of disappointment that he didn' t address her by her proper name,
Butthurts , while speaking to her, but there was nothing she
could do about it.
