I wouldn't mind the amount of swords if not for the fact that they used almost half of the DLC spots to put in more, and only bothered putting in two unique characters. Three ******* returning fighters, three ******* swordsmen, one of which is just two default characters fused. Lucas could've basically just been a custom move version of Ness, Roy is good, but just adds to the sword Fire Emblem problem, and none of this would be a problem if they left it open, but they're just like, " **** you, we're done." Even if they didn't add anyone else, I'd rather be able to believe they were considering it.

Especially infuriating to me was that Sakurai said all new characters would be Ballot fanservice, but then we get Robin 2.0, the only ******* ballot character was Bayonetta.

The whole "DLC slots" thing never made sense to me. If they didn't include Corrin, I am positive Bayonetta would have been the only announced character, and not another one of the ballot characters. I see no reason at all to be upset, especially due to the fact that Smash 4 wasn't even planned to have DLC. So, a new character is a new character, and in the end, they just DLC; you don't have to buy them.

That's the ******** , though, the way things were worded implied at least a few more characters, but nope, just Bayonetta and Robin 2: Fire Emblem Bias Boogaloo. I don't give a **** that Corrin was shoehorned into the game, but them ending the DLC there is enough of a ******* spit in the face to make me angry even at that.

Honestly, when they announced the ballot it should've been a chance to add a character who otherwise didn't have a chance, but instead they used it to justify Bayonetta, who probably would've been put in anyway, at some point. I would've preferred Shantae, but Banjo Kazooie, Shovel Knight, Inkling, K. Rool, there are a ******* thousand characters Nintendo could have easily gotten the rights to and used. Hell, Shovel Knight's and Shantae's companies actively supported the idea of their inclusion. There's no reason to close the door on character DLC so soon except they don't want to put in the work.

If they left it open, it'd be fine, again, but it's a ******* cunt move to talk like there'll be more than one ballot character, go against that, shove in a character 90% of the world doesn't know about to advertise another game, and say, "That's all, cucks, thanks for the money!"

>not planned to have DLC.
>DLC was mentioned months before release
>they were actively developing characters before release to release as DLC
***** , you don't know **** .

Why couldn't they have added some variation besides another swordsman? What about the spears or axes? I would've loved to have had a spearman who's playstyle was based on keeping enemies at medium distance.
Example: Ephraim.

Exactly what I've been saying, we need an Ephraim. Not only to diversify the weapon choices of the FE character pool, but also to rep Sacred Stones.

Also he's badass enough to fit the bill.

I don't mind Corrin's inclusion too much. The moves are cool, the idea of what basically amounts to a were-dragon swordsman (with a magic chainsaw sword) sounds fun... But I'm getting tired of counters. How many characters have counter moves now? 10, 11 if you count Mii Swordfighter. That's almost 1/5th of the roster.

Bayonetta is surprising, mainly in that they got the rights to use her, and are actually putting her in a game primarily marketed toward young teens/pre-teens. Her play style seems geared toward more hardcore gamers, at least to be more effective. And I'm actually not too upset about her counter move. It does something other than outright counterattack.

I have little to nothing to complain about regarding Cloud. Sure, it sounds like I'm being a fanboy, but I'm actually pretty pleased with his inclusion. Especially the fact that Nintendo was able to keep it quiet until they revealed it. And that Square Enix okay'd it. I think the only thing I could complain about is the future of For Glory whenever Cloud shows up. He's gonna run and charge up his Limit Break, and then rush in, thinking he's unstoppable, before he gets launched a good distance and has to use Climhazard to recover. Repeat until he loses.

Midgar is pretty ******* sweet, though. Could of added Shiva, making the ground icy and edges non-grabable.

Nintendo don't need to get the rights, they own Bayonetta.

I'm pretty sure Platinum games owns Bayonetta, but Nintendo has been working well with Platinum games lately so it wouldn't be difficult getting the rights.

Bayonetta is published by nintendo so you are correct in that it would not be hard to get the rights

Marth and Roy were originally the same deal.

If you hate swordsman so much, just come play the better game.

We've only got 2. Well, four if you count Link and Young Link.
