The new fire emblem site, character information. Unofficial translation from moonrunes by fans. The rest can be found here blushingidiot.tumblr.com/post/120412765223/all-fire-emblem-if-website-character-profiles
I honestly have no idea what any of this is from. But I am interested.
What do you mean? Fire Emblem always looked anime-y.
If you're talking about the fact that it looks like japanese styled anime instead of medieval european styled anime, then that is because it's a completely new installment in the series. Takes place in another world, or at least on the other side of the world.

Well it looks exactly like Fire Emblem: Awakening that came out like 2 years ago.

The only difference is that 3d models now have proper legs instead of stubs.

I probably should have played that. Also the stubs are ridiculous what the hell.
S'up man. You heard the news? Fire Emblem: If comes out in glorious nippon today, while euro and murican plebs get it in early 2016. The localized version will be called "Fire Emblem: Fates: Birthright" and "Fire Emblem: Fates: Conquest". That's right, the game comes out in 2 different versions, each one containing only one of the two storylines. God ******* damn . they also promised a DLC with a third storyline ( **** everyone, i'll create a new side)to come out later, and then a LIMITUDU EDISHONU containing all three storylines. If you're optimistic you may expect this to come out at the same time with the localized versions.
If you buy the digital edition of the game then you get a choice of the storyline and the game version locks after that, until you pay the monies.

Well son of a bitch.
I was hoping it wouldn't turn into a DLC fest... but I shoulda known better. There could be a slight chance the localized will not be that ******** , because we'll probably complain about it.

Yeah I heard about that. I couldn't care less about it, hope it's optional even though I wouldn't mind having such a couple.

Well that's just how Pokemon's been done for years, we grew used to it (and it was neat to get you to trade with other people).
Also watched a video about If. You hear about the face touching thing? That's... something?
The base thing seems cool, and weapons apparently don't break from what I hear. Neat stuff. Resources are a thing, which I like.
Some of the characters look cool, so this should be a fun ride.

It's either like a new addition to support conversations (they have something called "affection" apparently, Idk if that's different or separate from normal support levels or not) or it's how they handle affection entirely.
It's like the pokemon thing where you touch a pokemon, but it's only for the face. Each character has a certain spot or something they like. I guess it helps with affection. They get closer to you too on screen. I didn't hear much about it.

Yeah it's a different cultural thing I guess, and they really jumped onto the waifu thing because that's a big reason awakening was so damn popular.
I can't blame em, it's a good idea to play on that strength. I hope the whole supports thing is improved a little, with a little more banter and such between people. It always felt limiting with the way they do it.

Well Awakening's DLC were all great. Exactly what a DLC should be- additional, completely optional content. Not a chunk of content that should originally be in the game.
it also had that much needed additional dialogue between all the characters.
I hope that they will make Fate's DLC the same way.
But dual editions are still a huge ******* bummer.

People tend to mix up the two sadly, and make "DLC" that really shouldn't be considered that. Yeah it might be "optional", but some of those optional things are totally great and big enough that they aren't "optional" if you want a full experience.
I hear they may have a signature ed. that has all versions... but who knows if we'll get it.

As I said, the Limited Edition with all versions. That's what i've been talking about all this time.
It's just that the wiki page says "it will come out at the same time with the games" in one place and "significantly later" in another... all on one page. I guess it has something to do with the fact that japgame is out already, and the "third route" dlc is not out yet, but may be out by the ROW release. Let's hope that we will be able to get the all-in-one from the get go.

Someone should draw, "Pick a god and spray!"
this is probably out there already

he's amazing early on, but his stat gain is so ****** that he's practically useless come end game.
Really you could take anyone to endgame if you wanted. Second seals and all.
Oh yeah I know that for a fact. Ever see Morgan with 71 strength? Monstrous.

Also whoever decided to give Donnel that trait where he can become an absolute God was crazy and I love him for his decision.
Jesus Christ was this silly tin hat ************ a beast.

Gotta love when the teen with a pan for a helmet can singlehandedly defeat 12 undead generals with powerful weapons.
I usually skipped Donny because of the requirement to get him. I just used other characters. now that I think about it I rarely used anyone who wasn't the avatar, dlc, or a child
All this talk of making the children practically gods reminds me of FE4.
