every game? reeeeeealy? so the devs of every MOBA ever should stop and make a single player mode and give it lots of love at the cost of the multiplayer of a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena

that was a silly example but you used the world every so i am totally justified in using it

some games just work better in multiplayer because that was what they were designed for i think that games that have a single player focus should stop wasting dev time by adding ****** multiplayer modes but it is also true that multiplayer focused games should stop wasting dev time on ******** single player modes

I was disappointed that there weren't better followers.
Serana was close to what I wanted, a character that developed through out the story along with you. I wish there were followers that did this through out the length of the entire game, including side quests and DLCs.
Something less of a follower and.. more of a companion.

That would have made it bearable. NPCs that are fleshed out throughout the game like in Bioware games would have made it interesting, but the followers in Skyrim (besides Serena) only seem to have a handful of dialogue options that almost never change. Just robots that do things for you.

Felt it was really REALLY bad compared to previous games. The main story was literally just:

- Go to a cave
- Fight Draugh (or whatever)
- Find a claw
- Open the door
- Get on the floor
- Fight more
- Fight a boss
- Find a wall with dragon speech on it
- Leave through a conveniently placed tunnel leading to the start
- Repeat

The combat was good, but it dumbed down the story, the lore, the choices, the world, the quests, etc. in order to appeal to a wider base. Oblivion started that painful trend, but Skyrim turned it up to eleven to where it was only an above average game compared to Oblivion, which was good, and Morrowind, which was excellent in everything but combat. Most of the people who laud it as the best thing only think so because it was babby's first Elder Scrolls

I wish I had the image that showed the comparison of armor, magic, weapon, and skill choices between Morrowind and Skyrim to show how much they dumbed it down.

despite what people say, i think it improved on more aspects than it dumbed down.
And the whole thing about it being a casual game? Thankfully the modding is more flexible and the community is larger that there are many mods that fix the problems that i have with the game.

The developers knew they couldn't please everyone.

The melee combat was terrible, its just hitting constantly until they're dead, not much difficulty to it. And the shouts were really insignificant most of the time.

There was blocking, attacking, powerattacking, sneak attacking, staggering, paralyzation, 4 different powerattacks with different effects, shieldbashing and combo-attacks. And you say that the combat was just hitting things untill they died? Well then you either 1: Had the difficulty too low, or 2:You chose the wrong battlestyle (there is alot more timing in a shield/sword fightstyle than in a dual dagger style f. example, because daggers are made for sneaking)

I love both games. For me, Skyrim is a game of exploration, beauty and adventure. I was quite pleased with the combat, I like the way bows feel, and it feels really rewarding to sneak up on someone and assassinate them. But the thing that makes the game (all the elder scrolls games really) is the extremely complex lore. I love fantasy, and the elder scrolls universe is one of the universes that makes you read more about it. I do realize that Skyrim isnt a perfect game, but it has been good enough to make me play it for 430 hours.

The bows were nice and the assassinating was cool, that's the combat path I took. But i would slice the necks of some people and then they would fall on the floor panting for a bit, eventually getting up and setting the whole city on me.

I liked the quest where you break out of prison though, that was fun

The graphics weren't all that good, even after I added about 100 different mods to enhance them

I literally had more fun modding it than playing it, glad I bought it on a steam deal.

Too few ways of disposing of enemies non-lethally, as opposed to the millions of ways you can kill enemies. If an enemy spots you the only way to neutralize him is to shoot him with a poison dart, there should be a melee takedown where you hit them in the head with the handle of your knife when you block perfectly or something. The combat is fun, but if you want to play non-lethally you probably won't experience it because if you are spotted on a non-lethal run you better have a ******** of tranq darts or else you'll just have to reload a save. Also the game holds your hand a little too much, it was annoying to constantly turn off objective markers in order to find my own way to the objectives. I have to admit that I haven't finished it yet though, I came to the part where everyone betrays you and you escape from the assasins and kind of lost interest there, so I can't really give my full opinion on the game. I liked the non-lethal way you could get rid of the high overseer with the heretics brand though. That was pretty baller.

I have some more things to say but I'm kind of tired and I feel like I'm rambling. I will say that the game is beautiful visually, and the universe is engaging, and I hope there will be a sequel that fixes some of the issues I had with it.

I can understand why you dislike it, then, but there are always ways to run from enemies and then go back to take them out non-lethally. Personally, I played the game both ways and each style of game play is fun, but I find a non-lethal approach to the game is more challenging just because of the reasons you gave. However, you should give the game another try and just go lethal, because the story line is really worth it.

I'm not positive, but I remember hearing that EA has committed to publishing and creating multiplayer-only games in the last couple of years.

I always thought about a gta with parkour as the main focus would be a good idea, but that's great too I guess.

I meant modern day with the crime style story, not more secret mythical conspiracy crap.

Dying Light is essentially a co-op freeroam Mirror's Edge meets I Am Legend, it's coming out some time next year.

I used to teach a Class that centered around screenplay writing. While going through plot development, for some reason MGS Came up. 6, 1 hour lectures it took to explain the plot, and i still feel like i left out a lot. No post can help you….Just go buy the first 3 games, play the hell out of them and be happy

i sincerely hope hideo kojima and the crew do a full reboot of this, that game was absolutely perfect as a solo campaign (although it does have its absurdities), the enemies were smart, challenging, and you had to use your head often as well as optional cheats given for playing one of the two different endings it had, and this was all on playstation one, then to gamecube (the version i played). the men that birthed this gloriousness should be recognized, and the game itself should be embraced on newer generation consoles, i bet it would sell
