Characters In The Smash Ballot
Some of you may have seen our article yesterday about . the
creator" of Super Smash Bros, talking in his Famiy: colured' l about how
Freddy from the "Five Nights at Freddy' s" series will never be in the
more recent games. So we decided we would ask him a little more about
some of the Smash Ballot enteres he and his team have recieved so far,
and we were lucky to get to talk to him and get some information about
what they' re seeing. Here is some of the interview we' d like to share
with you:
MN bi', "So you mentioned that Freddy, from the FAAF series has actually
been vote For quite a bit. Are mere any other outlandish character votes
you' seen that: you' d like to share with us?"
S: "l think: one that wouldn' t come as a surprise to die internet is Smelt."
MN bi', "Uh. that must he a pern/'
S: "l: certainly is: [was excited to open up the Smash Ballot to Fa as but it
is disappointing to see so many of them waste their chance to have their
favorite video game character be added as a fighters'
MN bi', "[fl may ash. just to make the internet realize. is that a
configuration that: Smelt. will never make it into the game?"
S: -Well" odd to mink about is that Shoal: is eligible to
he added to the roster. He has appeared in mulitiple video games, and is
very popula r. : Oviously. unless fans aren' t as serious about it as they
seem when l read these votes. However, what it really all comes to
is if we as a team believe he would he a good fit, and Ewe could portray
him correctly as a fighter, -

think there is also a part of the internet that: says Smelt really won' t ever

No, he would not. As most people vote for him because of the "Shrek is Love Shrek is life" ******** . So I pray he will not be in any Smash game, as he would be a joke character that people can just create on their own as a Mii character. So why bother?
I don't give a flying **** about red thumbs either. Shrek shouldn't be in Smash because he's a joke, and the internet would just want him to either be OP or perverted as hell with his attacks

Honestly, half of the crap they're putting in smash now has all but made it... just meh now. Cloud strife? Like... ****** really? That character every edgy kid ever wants in there? Why? Mewtwo just being yet another reskin (because 4 totally doesn't have enough of those, right?) could have had real effort put into him instead of just being lucario. Sword wielding fire emblem character #25804 was necessary? Nobody likes playing against them. BAYONETTA FFS. Again. Why?! Nintendo used to be so... well, as much as I hate the term... they used to be gatekeepers of their own content. 3rd party additions were easter eggs at best for the longest time. Now they just seem to be saying " **** it! Who wants a turn at our asses?"

Yes. Nintendo mainly makes children's games. But that's just it. No other companies do it as well as they do. Can't we just.... Are they really hurting that bad for customers? I don't need mario to have a shotgun to be playable. Pokemon doesn't need swearing or edge to be enjoyable. Zelda doesn't need wubstep filled cutscenes that change angles every three seconds to keep my attention. These games fill a niche in our lives. They're silly, down to earth, and... dare I say it? "Casual". With gaming being the hyped up e-sports ******** it's become... it's nice to just.... play a cute little brightly colored game, in the small amount of free time a lot of us get, about jumping on turtles without get shouted at by small children because we're not perfect at it.

....Have you even played smash? or any of the games you complained about?
I've actually argued fire emblem characters case forever so I'm not gonna bother.
Final Fantasy 7 is 18 nearly 20 years old, so I don't get what you mean by "edgy kids"
I'm not sure how having cool characters as dlc is "giving mario a shotgun" because nothing remotely like that has happened to any franchise, let alone the ones you mentioned.
Lucario is a clone of mewtwo, first of all, and in smash 4 they're rather different.
I mean besides Shadow Ball and Aura Sphere(Which are pretty different) They don't share much of anything.

TL;DR Mindless griping like that is why Sakurai hates his fans.

You really mean to tell me you have never seen people go on gamefaqs and talk about how cloud and other FF characters should be in smash? It was pretty constant. Probably still is.

As well... I only brought up the "mario with a shotgun" etc etc in comparison to current games as they are. Context is everything, and if I didn't give enough, I am sorry, that is my fault.

None of this was mindless, just possibly poorly translated from mind to paper. So... I'll rewrite it short and sweet, instead:

"I feel like smash bros is getting crowded with characters that don't need to be there. And personally, I fear Nintendo might be getting desperate. I certainly hope not, because their child-friendly games are a great source of fun for me when I want to avoid angry MLG gamer nonsense."

Much more understandable, though I don't think you have to worry much about nintendo money wise.
Also people want Cloud because he's rather iconic, and a pretty decent character to boot , barring "90s star power" people would still actually want him in smash, and he's not particularly dark in most media featuring him.(Completely backstory-loaded like alot of action game "leads")

With angry MLG.... the salt levels in melee are lethal.

Yeah... I avoid melee like the plague. I play brawl and 4 with friends for fun and not much else. The pro MLG people... I don't understand. Like.... how do you get that passionate about something that does physically nothing to make your life better?

Wasn't that like the entire point of it, what else do you expect us to vote on. Egh I never liked the whole balot thing, the idea of it was ******* amazing but how strict and salty the develepors react kinda ruined it for me, even when there are so many characters they can pick from popular games wich the origanol owners bassicly were begging for them to get picked. you know: shovel knight, banjo kazooi, rayman, etc and with all the IMO "meh" entries so far I've already lost intrest

I may be judging it to soon but so far I'm kinda dissapointed, but hey if you liked Ryu, cloud and bayonette then it's not for me to judge.

Banjo Kazooie is one of the worst ones I have heard yet so many people want it for some reason. Hes not a reasonable option because he is owned by microsoft. And also, his games were a lot worse than you think they are.

Because it has to be reasonable, not just someone's favourite character from something totally unrelated like ******* Dumbledore.
The easiest choices would be other characters Nintendo has previously used on their consoles like Tom Nook or a Palico or Luke Fon Fabre.

Then you have to think about how it would be a fighter, what moves would it use and how would it be animated?
In all honestly most of the fighters are just reskins of each other with slightly different animations, so picking a character that would be easy to reskin and animate is a good start.
Then there's the whole 'is it logical?' All the characters are fighters in their respective games anyway, would Freddie, an old animatronic really look alright flinging himself around the battlefield trying to what? Bite people? No. And even then, he doesn't have enough moves that he could use, a super punch? Nope. A headbutt? Maybe.
Fireballs? Definitely not.

But isn't it like really lame if you're gonna make your characters reskins and play the same, especially if they're paid content, people say that we have to many sword blokes and granted there aren't that many of them but the one's that are there al kinda feel like playing the same guy. And to many anime/toon/realistic human characters is also pretty boring and usually don't fit into stages like pacman-land or yoshi Island.

Now I'm not saying we should ad characters like Shrek or Freddy cause honestly that would sound horrible but cartoony characters from games like like I said rayman, banjo kazooi, shovel knight or Isaac from binding of isaac not that other sword bloke , they have distinct attacks, have unique games with levels you can easilly make more stages from much like characters like yoshi or kirby and they've all been on a nintendo console and every creator of these characters have openlly agreed they'de love the idea. Just get out of your comfert zone and try something new instead of predictable. Pic related it's a move set made by the original creator of Banjo kazooi

And about that whole nintendo being salty thing I was talking about that one online prank someone made where they made sprites from the mentioned characters and pretended it was a character leak, Nintendo was like "Hey don't do that **** " and bassicly all bets for the characters apearing in the future are off, seeing as the director of smash the same butthurt bloke is that removed hours of work worth of cutscenes and maybe a whole story campaign similar to Brawl just cause they where leaked on the web. Pair that with alot of other stupid **** Nintendo has done resentlly makes me no longer wanna like the company. seriouslly I can write like a whole essay about it also I know that not every company is perfect, but doing that hurts yourself more then it helps

TL : DR Nintendo can do better IMO and it is perfectly capable to.

You're ******* stupid if the main character of a series rammed down to the ground by sequels, is gonna get put in a fighting game for actually good characters. Why do you want him in? Because "Lol! * **** and giggles*" and "Shrek is love! LOL HAHAHA!" ? Get out of here, this is why we can't have nice things. We were given something to make Sakurai believe that we were more mature. But he just gets a giant bag of disappointment. And **** you "Put Ghost from CoD in it" people, he's some smuck in a skull ski mask that got died and everyone thought it was more tragic than a Edgar Allan Poe story, boo-flippity-hoo.

Got a problem with the fact that a meme is more annoying than John Cena, and more kid bait than PewDiePie? Then bug off. Shrek had 2 good movies. That's all. Red thumb me harder than that Reaver loving guy that goes from post to post bragging about a game series that gets worse by the sequel. The new smash bros is something thats bringing new things to the table, don't piss it down the drain because you wanna have a ******* meme in a game that'll be more stupid than it is now.

If you think that Shrek **** is funny, get laid, get drunk, piss off into a ally way into a group of men that'll kick the lolz out of you. ******* cancer.

It's a game you play with a couch full of people at a party and have fun with. It's not supposed to be stupidly competitive and elitist. ******* Pac-Man and Sonic are in there. If you think Smash cares about "being serious for serious gamers" then you shouldn't be playing Smash
