I think it stems from being either too goddamn big (great cave offensive/ palutenas temple/ guar plains(not too bad for this one) )or too many walk-off edges (pac-land/mario galaxy stage/boxing ring) the gimmicky stages are cool if you're not playing seriously

burningchimera (12/18/2015) [-] My friends and i always play tournament style because we make our own fun with our own skill. Gimmicks are just annoying to us, we're not taking it seriously, even though we try to improve tech skill, we always play dumb matches for fun too.
