I know. I think it was the feeling of mystery. You had no idea what to expect. Altair was my favorite because you never really saw his face in the first game. Just a shadow above his mouth had a badass/cold look to me. He had just as much mystery to him as the story, but I connected with him over time. I never connected with Ezio, and I wanted to connect with Conner but the game just didn't allow it. Edward is pretty badass so far, so maybe they can get it back on track.

The game seems to get alot of hate because it wasn't "Stealthy" enough. I disagree, pretty much all the missions on land were stealth missions and you can hardly hide a ship and attack unexpectedly with a giant 50 foot tall Jackdaw!

I've never really liked stealth games but Assasin's Creed completely changed that. My favourite part of the game was when you had to stealth your way through the assasin's. I would just whistle and as they came over I would smother them and whisper "Shush... shush... Just, just let it happen...femme la bouche, femme la bouche..." As they squirmed in fear.

To be fair to Polomaster, that was in AC3. Either way I always thought the training of assassins and sending them out to other countries was just unnecessary. I liked them as an addition to game play, like taking out a hard to get guard or something.

when the **** did I say it wasn't in 3?

there's old black dude who can train them, and after he comes to his end, Connor or the other "assassins" could train them in between the dates you don't see him

Calm the **** down, the guy never mentioned 3, he was talking about black flag. So when you started going on about not being able to train a small army of assassins and the lack of robes it was pretty ******* fair for one to assume you may have gotten it confused.

I never said that it was impossible to implement more assassins in the damn game, I clearly was only mentioning my point of view on them as a gameplay mechanic, in that it was unnecessary outside of the "game world" so to speak. Basically I'm saying I wouldn't have minded if they kept them but they could have removed the whole sending them to European cities on missions thing and I wouldn't have missed it.

I dunno, I'm sure someone with a strong enough arm could throw a broadsword as far as that while keeping it spinning. There are people who do it with axes all the time. For Christ's sake there are people who literally toss full logs for sport.

For quite a bit of the game, I thought, the development of Edwards motivations was paced rather well, and done well. Enough time was used to slowly erode his devotion only to himself, then the death of everyone around him is the great shock which pushes him over to the Assassin ideology. To their credit, the devs still made him very much unique even in his greater interactions with the Assassins.

The combat mechanics in Brotherhood were friggin awesome (although this post might not be the best example), but I thought the game was SERIOUSLY lacking in challenge. I mean, Ezio is super talented and there is no need for all the armor that you can acquire. You can literally be knocked defenseless back and forth between twenty guards, all while having one square of armor left, and it takes like 5 minutes for them to kill you. Also there are banks and shops you can buy and treasure hidden everywhere which can make you a millionaire in an afternoon and there's next to **** all to spend it on besides pretty robe colors. Also they put a mechanic in the game where you could press one god damn button and arrows would just fall from heaven and kill every single enemy. It wasn't even a cheat! I have to agree with Yahtzee (of zero punctuation) on this one that the game was just too damn easy.

Then Revelations happened and AC's credibility as a franchise went the way of Call of Duty.

I am genuinely interested in all the hate on ACR, It wasn't my favourite AC but I did enjoy it and thought it "worthy" as a installment.

that was because of a policy ubisoft set in place when AC2 was released where they had to make a new game of their major series every year

They're supposedly not doing that if the game isn't good enough
But AC3 has determined that is a lie.

Then where's my sequel to PoP '08? I would ask about Splinter Cell but it's under the Tom Clancy name. And there are numerous other franchises that need a sequel that they have yet to make.
