You've probably heard of this game. Huniepop was recently released on Steam, and it's gotten a lot of praise for being a unique take on dating sims, as well as being a damn good puzzle game. It's technically not hentai, since it was made by a western indie company, but you can tell that there's an inspiration here.

Beli is a soft-spoken yoga instructor who is well in touch with her spiritual side and is a hopeless romantic. She values balance, honesty, and nature. She's one of my favorite girls in this game because she could have easily just been written as the chaste nature freak, but that's all downplayed. There's a difference between spirituality and chastity, and Beli represents this well. She also seems the most content with herself, out of all the girls in this game. Anyway, she likes Romance tokens, but doesn't like Flirtation tokens; she's looking for something real, not pickup lines.

Seriously, if you even mildly enjoy dating sims and/or puzzle games, do yourself a favor and get HuniePop. The developers clearly knew what they were doing, and took a bold risk with such a safe formula.

I'm gonna make a list of all the characters, so you can decide in advance which ones you wanna pursue, should you decide to get the game. Remember, each girl has a preferred trait that is incorporated into the puzzle segments as one of four token types. Other than that, it's your typical game of Bejeweled, or (blargh) Candy Crush.

Lola is a renaissance woman who loves the high-life. She's a stewardess, so she travels a lot, and holds high standards to the people she meets. It makes sense, given how much she's seen and how ambitious she is. Doesn't want anything to drag her down. As such, when you talk to her, make yourself out to be a big deal. She loves that. During dates, aim for pairs of Romance (orange) tokens, and avoid Talent (blue) tokens if you can.

Nikki is your typical nerd who prefers to spend her time indoors playing video games, theorizing about aliens, and hating popular things. She's reluctant to open up or go on dates, and can seem like a cynical jerk, but you might warm up to her, since she's not always negative, and her voice is refreshingly downplayed and realistic. She likes Talent tokens, but does not like Sexuality (red) tokens.

For some reason, Audrey is the most popular girl in this game amongst the fanbase. She's a rebellious, insufferable delinquent who skips school, smokes, shoplifts, and gets high as a kite whenever she can. Although there are implications that this is an act to appear cooler than she really thinks she is. Also, her unlockable hairstyles reveal that she dyes her hair red and that amuses me. Audrey likes Flirtation (green) tokens, and dislikes Romance tokens.

Kyanna is a trooper, staying in shape and keeping herself healthy. She's optimistic, energetic, and she's a mother.
Wait, what?
Yeah, she got pregnant young, and as such is looking for a partner that'll be good to her and her kid, though you never actually meet Philip (on-screen, anyway). Be honest, be nice, and be morally sound. She likes Talent, and dislikes Romance; guess she's not looking for anything too serious, but that makes sense.
This game decided to knock out both the cheerleader and the schoolgirl in one go! Tiffany is a peppy and upbeat college student who values her education above all else, which makes her social life a little difficult, especially around headcases like Nikki and Audrey. She's trying to distance herself from her mom, who is apparently a bit of a floozy. As such, she doesn't like Sexuality tokens, but she does like Flirtation tokens.

Hooray for nihilistic Japanese college professors! ...Wait, that's not a thing? Anyway, Aiko is a special case. She's apparently smart enough to teach at the university, but she's going through a quarter-life crisis and is looking for greater meaning in life. That said, she's still able to keep herself happy most of the time, and she doesn't mind it when her date (AKA you) acts like a perverted dork. She loves transparency. Her favorite token is Sexuality, while her least favorite is Talent.

Man, Beli, you are too good for this game.

Finally, we have Jessie, who is this dating sim's resident slut. Her forward nature comes so close to being obnoxious that it just cycles around into hilarious and kinda charming. She's a bit of a hedonist who encourages open relationships (she's actually currently in one with Lola), drinking, and tons of sex. She's so wrapped up in doing the do that she's actually made a career out of it. Yep, she's a porn star. Despite all this, she has a quite a heart to her, as she's clearly very caring towards her many partners, and she values family above all else. She very much wants to reconnect with her estranged daughter. That doesn't stop her from having a good time, though. Her favorite token is Sexuality (duh), and her least favorite is Romance (double duh).

If this comp gets popular, I'll make one for the secret girls, and maybe one for general gameplay tips.
