Actually, he WAS possessed. At this point he's merely hypnotized himself into believing he's still Liquid. Though he does still seem to have some Ocelot in him, given how he changes up his style during this fight to match his old incarnations.
i don't know if that part was up for interpretation or not but i always thought that was ocelot snapping out of the hypnotism and regaining his senses. god knows his fighting style (or phasei f you will) was more difficult than "Liquids"
