I am NOT 24/7 on Steam. I have a job and Steam WAS offline on a moment where the least Steam users are active.
That OTHER people have problems with Steam, does not mean 'everyone' suddenly has the same problems. Steam always worked for me and the one time it did not work, the Steam Support crew helped me out and found out that I had done something on my own for Steam to stop working. They helped me fix it as well. (Yes, it might take a few days for them to respond)

So for a fact Steam has given me 0 problems, while I caused 1 problem myself. Also, it is a platform that needs to run on 2 types of operating systems and millions of types of hardware. What did you expect? That everything worked flawless? The only person that is full of 'BS' is you, since you can't even give a normal answer to my question.

The point? Steam is good, but has flaws, just like every other console. If a system is flawless, then play that god damn system. Saying "HURR DURR YOU USE STEAM IT'S AWFUL" is like saying "You don't have to play on the Xbox servers, you can find people and play them via LAN.". That's completely unnecessary. If there was something better than Steam, I'd use it.

Options:
1. There are a shitload of free to play games out there in really good quality. You could play that.
2. You could just go to a store and buy the games in cd package.
3. You save a lot of money by using steam because of their summer sales and weekend deals which is pretty damn neat. Compared to xbox and PS3, you save much more money.
4. There's also the option to pirate it, but then you wouldn't support the developers.

I really don't see any reason to hate on steam, they also give great support when things don't work. You can also easily gift people games.

Too bad that your computer sucks I guess. Never experienced a crash with my steam and if it does crash then you can easily ask steam support like I said. Sure, they might have a shitty job, but it helps people who suck at computers. It can take very long for you to pirate a game rather than just download the game from steam. There are tons of viruses and unfixed versions that are pirated and they are not all kept up to date.
