Hey guys, decided to make and EVE comp because it's a pretty cool game so why not. First up is a bit of backstory, followed by a comp in progress of the playable races in EVE, and then a comp of the other, non-playable factions.

In 7987 AD, a wormhole leading to the New Eden cluster was discovered by mankind, who named it the EVE gate and rapidly colonized the nearby systems.

A century later, the EVE gate collapsed without warning. Only a handful of colonies survived being cut off from Earth in what became known as the Dark Ages. Societies rose and fell until eventually, several empires managed to rediscover spaceflight and recolonize their local systems 14000 years later before spreading further out.

The Amarr Empire is the second empire to reachieve spaceflight, and is the largest empire in New Eden. The Empire is a theocratic and authoritative state composed of a patchwork of feudal states that fall under the unquestioned rule of the emperor. Below him are the five Heirs of the royal houses, who control their own regions of space. The current empress is Jamyl Sarum of house Sarum. Religon is an everyday aspect of Amarr society, and traces back to the Conformist Church formed before the collapse of the EVE gate.

The Amarr believe that they are the rightful masters of the universe by divine mandate, which sours their relations with the other empires. Slavery is also widely practiced within the empire and a key part of their society. Despite being seen a arrogant and tyrannical for the most part, the Amarr are also capable of selfess acts in the name of their religion. They are fiercely bound by tradition, and have trouble adapting their rigid bureaucracy to modern times.

After constructing their first stargate, the Amarr went on to conquer and subjugate other civilizations by divine birthright of the entire Domain region. Eventually, they stumbled upon the Minmatar homeworld and enslaved large parts of their population in what became known as the Day of Darkness.

The Amarr met two other empires shortly after: the progressive Gallente Federation, and the mysterious and secluded Jove. The Amarr hesitated to directly confront the Gallente, and decided to conquer to Jove instead. This ended in catastrophic failure for the Amarr at the battle of Vak'Atioth, where their entire fleet was decimated by a much smaller Jove force. Before the Amarr had a chance to counterattack, they were caught in a sudden civil war as the Minmatar rose against their former masters and reclaimed large parts of their home regions. This double failure forced the Amarr to reconsider their imperialistic views.

Amarr ships are sleek and golden, and favor thick armor plating over speed. They are also mostly outfitted with laser turrets, although a few missile and drone centric ships appear in their arsenal.

For the morbidly curious, there's a series of chronicles detailing how each major empire employs torture. Here how the Amarr do it:

I played Ogame for a while. Got really into it. Got friends really into it. I know that if I ever start eve, it'll be the end for me. There's no crawling back out of that pit. I often say that W.O.W steals souls, from what I hear about it, eve may actually be worse. I choose Life!

the only out for eve is if you can't get game time

that depends a lot on how you play it..
true it takes some time getting into it, learning how everything works, but if you specialize within one area it is fairly easy to lear the ups and downs - and you can learn a lot on the fly aswell.

The real kicker is the real time skillque: all skills train in real time, no matter if you are logged in or not, no, there is no "log in bonus" or required log in every XX hours this means that its entirely up to you how much you play, and what level of dedication you bring - no matter if you play for 10 hours a day, or just an hour a month you still have the same skills and stats as the guy who played more / less assuming you train the same things offcourse .
So it doesnt have to take all your time, and you will still be able to be a valuable asset to a group, or a strong soloplayer, when you DO log in.

If you want to give it a go, throw me a message here, I would be more than happy to show you the ropes . -and i can hook you up with an extended free trail, giving you a week more of free gametime.
