In Bloodborne there are hunters that fight beasts. The Lady with the beak masks hunts hunters who turn into beasts themselves. The guy is Father Gascoigne. Who isnt called father because of religious purposes, he just has two daughters. the crow mask lady is ask to cook his two girls dinner because their father is turning into a beast, and the crow lady will have to kill him soon. It was kinda a final wishes kinda thing. Very sad
i think he's a foreigner who earned the title of "father" elsewhere. likely some kind of church outside of yharnam. and eilene wouldn't kill him if he turned into a beast, that would be a hunters job to kill a beast. eilene hunts hunters who have gone mad with blood lust, such as henryk, gascoigne's old partner.
Bloodborne had so many great characters and story lines but they were just too short. If nothing else, I think the game just needs some more stuff to do with all of the NPCs you find.
I think Dark souls had the best lore, just in terms of how it all tied up into a really amazing story, in which you would never really understand its depth until you looked into item descriptions or even watched Vaatis videos. However, bloodborne in my opinion, was the most interesting. Im a huge sucker for lovecraft things and victorian settings, so holy **** did bloodborne hit all the right places for me. It was also great that the DLC also tied up some loose ends, like the doll and what the old hunters were like. There were also really subtle things in bloodborne that were super haunting, like whenever you talked to Arianna, in the background Adella would death glare you the entire conversation. Eerie as hell to me.
I wish I had a PS4, simply for bloodborne, the characters are all so wonderfully amazing and this just makes me feel absolutely terrible for father Gascoine and Eileen.
