How much you wanna bet there isn't any actual tactical guile as much as the character suddenly using a new power they came up with 10 seconds ago but they've always had it, i swear.

Here's the full version of that "Idea." While the thought of having Zelda as a magic focused character to play would be neat...

I think it'd be better if it was just a female Link instead. Not only to avoid messing with the lore, but also because it feels... odd to not have Link as the MC. Putting Lore aside for now, having Zelda as the MC would kind of ruin the previous characters of refinement you get from the other Zeldas. Even Tetra radiates some form of nobility after she becomes "Zelda."

Link, however, has always been something of a wild card. A farm boy, a forest child, an islander, or just an up-and-coming warrior. He's easier to mess with as a character, and shifting his gender around wouldn't make too much of an issue...

Story-wise, at least. I'm sure lots of people would make noise about it.

But to be honest, having a more "magic" focused character would be neat. Link has mostly relied on tools to complete his job or magic from others, so it'd be nice to have some form of magical abilities on his own. It'd take some shifting around in the lore to make magic seem less "Evil" to everyone for Link to learn on his/her own, though.

It'd be kinda neat if Zelda was playable, and used more magic then tools.
