I agree they could have given that for free in a patch or it could have been in the game already. And they did not give much in it either only building things and adoption, they could have patched alot with it and added alot from that game jam bethesda had. I mean they made a fucking werebear, and they could have added some quests for werewolfs.

they made werebears? and yea they coulda jsut added hearthfire to dawnguard, it was cool and all but in the end you could just buy a house in Windhelm or whatever for half the price it takes to build one

Sorry I forgot to say that they made werebears in a thing they call "game jam" go to youtube and type in "skyrim game jam" And yeah, why did they not do more things with hearthfire? All you could do was adopt a small child which was kinda cool but the house part was unneeded.
