After having to replay chapters over and over again because of the slightest mistakes I made, retarded filler that leads up to nothing, characters acting like ******* little children and having rapid mood swings, writers avoiding explaining how something happened and instead just saying the character blacked out and woke up later and a generic disappointment of an ending, I'd say I didn't really like it.

1. I guess you like to play CoD or something if you can't handle a game being a bit hard at points. And if you do fail, there's an option to skip the dialog altogether so it really doesn't take that long to get back to where you were.

2. People usually enjoy getting a little backstory about characters, unless you're playing CoD.

3. Those weren't just random mood swings, which you'd know if you followed the story. I'm beginning to suspect you never really gave it a chance.

4. I'd like an example of what you mean by omitting things, but I'll say that it's written like a novel, and often you're you're only told what the characters are seeing. Novels make you use your imagination. Also, personally, I didn't find that anything was particularly left in the dark with the story.

5. There's multiple endings, and to be honest, the main ending could have been better, but it isn't that bad.

Bottom line, it's a horror rpg with a story that gets surprisingly emotional at times, but if you aren't giving it a chance, it'll of course be ****. For me, the worst things were the japanese cliches that felt a bit glued-on at times.

And no, I don't think you really only strictly like games like CoD. I hope not, at least.

For the second point, I'm not talking about character backstory, I'm talking about the stupid ******* things like Yuka pissing herself which didn't lead up to anything or have any changes on the plot besides the ladder scene where absolutely nothing happened.

For the first point, if the game tells me not to read something and then punishes me a few hours later for not doing so, that's just ******* ********.

For the third point, there was a point when Ayumi and Yoshiki went back after Ayumi did some ******** emotional speech about saving her friends and got us all pumped up and almost immediately she was screaming about not being able to take it anymore and cried

For the fourth point, I don't mid having to use my imagination but when the writers decide that having the characters say "I blacked out and the next thing I knew, I-" over and over again, it gets pretty damn annoying.

Most of the emotional points were caused by the characters stupidity like Seiko's death, was it really that hard for Naomi to try and support her with her own body? or when Yui falls and dies from the collapsing floor telling Ayumi and Yoshiki to run and then having an emotional speech where they would have had all the time in the world to get her up and save her.

In the end, I just didn't really like it.

And no, I don't like CoD.

Yeah, I see what you mean.

I put the Yuka bathroom quest thing towards her supposedly being a cute character, but I did find myself think "JUST ******* PISS IN THE CORNER OR SOMETHING ALREADY!"

The character writing overall had some flaws like that, but I thought the story itself was really good, and had some twists which I found working well. The general atmosphere is great too.

I think this is really one of those games that's meant to be played over and over to get different scenes and bonus stuff, and getting a bad end is just a part of it.

I appreciate that you elaborated on your opinion though.

Speaking of bad ends - pretty different games, but there's two that I know that you're supposed to get bad ends on - don't be discouraged though, as they're fantastic games - 9 Doors 9 Hours 9 Persons, and Virtue's Last Reward, of which the latter is an amazing sequel to the other.

I'll admit I only got interested in the series due to a certain other youtube personality, but I do genuinely like the series. It has all your horror staples and yet mixes them with a bit of humor and other things you don't normally see breaking the tension. I've played or watched playthroughs for all of the games, and I can't wait for them to localize the newest one.

It's about five hours total, but the story itself is worth it. The commentary has its moments as well. Enjoy.

I watched when PewDiePie started to play it. And since I was so hooked in the plot, I just watched most of the rest of the game from Cry's LP since it was already done. Both LPs had their funny moments.
