I honestly think every game other the MGSV is mediocre and that the whole story is a *********** of ********* ideas kojima came up sometime and wanted to add up together somehow.
I just got the Phantom Pain, gamestop made a mistake and put it inside my Ground Zeroes box and i was gonna get Ground Zeroes for free because of a buy 2 get 1 deal so i got The Phantom Pain for free
So, I just finished phantom pain the other night, and would anyone care to explain to me why I shouldn't be outright pissed at this lazy ass ending "plot twist"?
It's a good game, the problems are it's story or lack thereof really , and the Options Syndrome
It gives you way too many options to do a task, when the task really was not difficult in the first place. It becomes either trivially easy, or throws just stupid ******** at you for the sake of "muh challenging level design" like Mission 30 and how you:
A: Cannot climb up the 2 foot tall step to get on the wall and sneak past, DESPITE IT CLEARLY BEING DESIGNED FOR THAT
and B: You know what players love? Random mines and an overwhelming amount of lights shining in every possible direction clearly forcing you to go a certain path while saying there's lots of options
I like the gameplay and all that, I'm just frustrated with "oh, and by the way, you weren't big boss the entire game, no you were some random medic from the game's prequel, who underwent cosmetic surgery and hypnotherapy to think he was the big boss." which desktop have any impact either way of the outcome of the first MGS, or PP
It does have an impact in the story, in Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake kills Big Boss. Completely. He dies. So how is he alive for the rest of the series? Venom was running around doing **** making himself known while real Boss was making Outer Heaven, hence why Ocelot is constantly like "OH HEY EVERYONE LOOK IT'S BIG BOSS SEE TOTALLY ALIVE GUYS RIGHT HERE IN NORTHERN KABUL AFGHANISTAN HE'S TOTALLY RIGHT HERE AND NOT ANYWHERE ELSE SEE?"
Sure, it's the answer to a question nobody had, and it was a **** ending and honestly really bad story with an incredibly underused and unknown villain who had the potential to be the absolute coolest, but that's what we got because Kojima can't manage a budget or time
This game is ruined by the FOBs, its makes no sense. I'm confused why FOBs have all your resources. Is there a way to take the GMP that it stores at my fob and store it at motherbase because I have like 1103740 GMP on the FOB but only 21530 at motherbase and I hate it. I'm confused that I have this large amount of GMP but when I try to develop something it only take from the amount at motherbase. Its so *************** that everytime I research something it takes from my small ass pool of money instead of the millions at my fob, why the hell won't it let me use that money, my motherbase total keeps going into the negative which I hate doing.
pw had better story and better gameplay than just about any of the main games. it also had a lot longer life cycle than most of the other games due to the amount of content it had.
yes the level design was restricted. but it was still a lot better than in mgs1 or 2 thanks to the better designed combat and sneaking system AND the variety of weapons and tactics you could use.
mgs3, while it has worse gameplay, had the same amount of content and equally good story. mgs4, while it had better gameplay had worse story.
