I wouldn't ******* know about that since im not following the game and have no wish to do so, So i called as i saw and said she, plus if it's a game where you play the same person just as different gender then it just goes about what gender you pick for her then there really isn't a problem If i called Corrin a girl. Happened with Frisk on undertale, No one gave so much a **** as to accept that people see the stupid yellow munchkin as what ever gender i thought it as

Its completely different case from most creatable characters since there are two different games, and each shows art for either gender
As well as both genders having canon routes to themselves (female is the darkblood, male is the whiteblood) as well as conversations and character links being different in fire emblem games for either gender
It really sets the two genders as similar, but different characters, whereas for most gender is simply cosmetic

To me it just sounds like people complaining that a Japanese-developed game isn't catering exclusively to western audiences.

Well Diddy Kong was created in the original Donkey Kong Country which was made by Rareware and they're from England so I guess he's technically not Japanese? I mean other than that I don't think there's a single character didn't originate in a Japanese game.
