The very nature of Smash puts characters into a universe where their powers don't have a context to make sense. It's the issue with any version of x vs Y where x and Y are from different works of fiction. It's like putting a character from a sci-fi work up against someone from a universe where basically everyone uses magic, the best they can do is just make the characters have moves that make sense and then make the game as fun and balances as possible.
Well, seeing as Kirby is arguably one of the most overpowered characters of all time, too, Asura would be in good company.
There's also Bayonetta, as chosentroll points out. A guy threw a skyscraper at her and she threw it back by HEADBUTTING IT.

And Bayonetta and her ability to tear open the fabric of reality Goatse style, summon giant limbs that can bitchslap you into low-Earth orbit, ability to basically do anything she wants and the fact that she actually brought a gun to a sword/fist fight is not overpowered in the slightest.
I get what you're saying, they just don't give a **** about whether the character fits on or not.
