I don't have a clue about what the series is, but hey, good time to ask this **** . I'm good with Undertale, people, but not Fallout, so I won't really care out the thumbs I get on this.
First up, do you HAVE to kill everyone or something?
Second, what's the main lore of Fallout, since again, I'm a noob?
And three, what DOES happen if you don't kill anyone/kill one person or a few/kill everyone?

If you have time check this out, fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Timeline it has pretty much all the info you'll need on the lore and everything. As for the killing people, not killing ANYONE is extremely difficult seeing as that's how you get a lot of your loot, XP, and sometimes it's required to finish a quest. For example *Spoiler ahead* Near the end of the game you HAVE to kill off a certain group depending on who you side with. For example if you side with the Institute you have to wipe out the Railroad So I have no idea how you can beat it and not kill anyone without some pretty big exploits.
Fallout, a game set in an alternate universe where technology didn't seem to advance much past the... 50's i would say. except they have intelligent A.I. and junk like that. Anyways, the games take place after a nuclear war, in which nukes were launched, turning the world into a wasteland where mutants, zombies, giant scorpions, etc. roam the land. You are a survivor, usually at first living in essentially an underground bomb shelter, with other people who've been there for years. You just wander around the wasteland pretty much doing whatever the hell you want. You don't have to kill anyone, but sometimes the story requires it, or you get stuck in a bad situation, or you just do want to kill everyone.
