This person has no idea how the dead ringer works apparently
'Initially the Spy sans takes 65% less damage, this effect is faded over time to normal cloak and 20% damage reduction when 3 seconds has passed. This damage reduction allows the player sans to survive some massive damage as long as the user has a sufficient amount of Health before the attack was made.'
Real knife deals massive damage (basily infinite), sans has 1 hp, therefore that Dead Ringer is more for show then anything else.
As a base lets say the Dead Ringer does a flat 50% defence
If you have let's say 20 health and take 10 damage you leave the fight with 15 health
If you have 10 health and take 50 damage you leave the fight with -15 health or dead
You never not take damage with the Dead Ringer so if sans has 1 hp even with a dead ringer you still only have to do 1 damage (you will always take damage)
Original dead ringer was OP as **** though. At least they buffed it with this tough break update. Unfortunately, everything else got nerfed to **** . especially the god damn market gardener out of ******* nowhere.
Crusader's crossbow did not need a buff. But I love it. I hate to say it, but with 3000+ hours in tf2, I cannot aim with the syringe gun unless someone is coming at me in a straight line.
One thing though. Although sans has only 1 base HP, you're forgetting something. In Undertale sleeping raises your max health. What does sans constantly do? Sleep. With the dead ringer, he would need to have 15385 HP to survive the 9999999 damage attack, and he would only survive with 1 HP, and would need to sleep for a VERY long time, but still, it is a possibility.
It's fanart, you whiny little bitch. Believe it or not, fanart rarely corresponds perfectly to in-game logic. Last time I checked, Asgore isn't canonically Santa.
Dickheads like you who hold up a great piece of art, wheeze in a breath, heavily exhale a snide "AKSHUALLY" and insult the person who made the fanart are some of the most irritating twats in the world.
He has Santa outfits in his wardrobe. How else can you explain ''Santa'' appearing every christmas in the underground? It's Asgore wanting to make everyone happy.
Not sure why but the first golden pocketwatch I thought of was the one from karazhan (WoW raid) its a trinket with a activatable that increases your dodge by alot (alot for then).
It's never said in game, but in the code, he has one health. But that's just code. If I were writing a fight scene where you only hit the guy once, I wouldn't bother giving him more health either.
Knife as an item does infinite damage so lets pretend its a backstab (something that only does base health * 6)
In the code of the Dead ringer it always fails under three conditions, a fully charged headshot, a backstab or a taunt kill
OR
Let's say sans has a **** tonne of health, let's say the knife isn't a backstab and just does infinite damage and lastly let's say the Dead Ringer halves damage, half of infinite > any set of health value that isn't also infinite
ALSO also lets say the knife isn't even involved www.youtube.com/watch?v=bRHOOH2MiZc sans drops his guard and in the world of undertale that's faithful, Muffet, Papyrus, Toriel and Glad Dummy Also you during the fight with sans all die instantly because they stop fighting. So even if its not the knife that kills him, with him mistakenly dropping his guard he also takes extreme damage
'Backstabs deal damage equal to 200% of the target's current health and always deal critical hits (increasing the damage to 600% of the target's current health)' the only way to not be critted with basicly with the battalion's backup
Secondly, Deadringer can not just outright prevent death if the number is high enough, that includes backstabs, headshots and taunt kills
So lets say sans health is 1, a backstab is going to do 2 damage + 4 Crit damage
(and for ease) DR blocks 50% that's 1 - 3 = dead
Now lets say sans has 1 + sleep health, backstab does 2 + sleep health*2 + 4 crit + sleep health *4
x*6 - x = dead
Also as someone who has died on low health and backstabs with the dead ringer out i know what im saying
Upon activation, the Cloak meter will immediately drop to 50%, and the Spy will receive a 3 second speed boost. During these first 3 seconds of cloak, the Spy takes reduced damage and the cloak will not flicker on contact with enemies or upon being shot. Intitially the Spy takes 65% less damage, this effect is faded over time to normal cloak and 20% damage reduction when 3 seconds has passed. This damage reduction allows the player to survive some massive damage as long as the user has a sufficient amount of Health before the attack was made with exception of fully charged headshots by Snipers, backstabs from enemy Spies, and Taunt kills. During the first 3 seconds of cloak the Spy is immune to afterburn (this was not mentioned in the patch notes and might be a bug).
I am currently, right now, most resent update, playing the game, dead ringer in no way saves you from back stabs
I'm fairly certain that's outdated information, because there's specific interractions from "dying" to special spy knives. saxxys, spicicles, wanga prick, and YER
the deadringer still blocks against head shots as long as they are not fully charged. it's never blocked fully charged headshots.
this is because headshots always crit for four times the damage, unless the target has any form of damage reduction, which completely nullifies the crit.
a fully charged headshot will kill absolutely any class in one hit, regardless of any outside sources. this includes a completely overhealed heavily.
Backstabs are very special cases with only a few ways to block them. as I said, this buff would have to be recent (as in within a month). because deadringer would completely reduce the damage, removing the multiplication and crit elements (essentially doing 100% of your current health with the damage reduction added on to that.)
that being said, it's still entirely reasonable to make this joke, which is stupid to be arguing over in the first place.
If Sans slept then he would have 11hp and you strike him in the chest (butterknife) apparently dealing 9999999 damage so Sans would be hit with 65% of the damage or 6499999.35 damage. This means Sans would be dead and the dead ringer would not activate. I think the fact that he has 1hp due to coding should be true since people had to dig into the Undertale files to find the secrets such as Gaster.
I hope that if Hard Mode is ever finished, they keep going with the alternate timeline idea and have it where you can kill Sans earlier in a genocide run, and where Papyrus is the big final boss. I mean, they established that he is much stronger than what lets you believe, it's just that he's too nice to hurt anyone. Imagine what it would be like if he went completely unhinged.
Well I mean, if Undyne even mentions how impressed she is at how strong Papyrus is, then you know he's strong.
That being said, he wouldn't stand a chance against Asgore for sure, considering that during your fight with Asgore, he is holding back quite a bit and isn't even looking at you the whole time. And his fight while holding back is much tougher than Papyrus's who was also holding back a lot. That being said, the Papyrus fight is actually pretty tough.
Another thing to consider though is that technically Sans is the weakest character in the whole game but is still the hardest. So even considering how powerful some characters are can still not make much of a difference in the fight. But I totally agree with you though.
*Hey look, admin has added a new cool feature! You can block channels.
*It's made especially for those like you, who just don't want to accept the fact that things they don't like exist.
*Here's how you do it: you go to the channel's url, then you click the "block channel's content" button.
*Crazy right?
*Well, take care.
*Hm
*Well i guess it does indeed fit better in that case
*Allthough isn't it a bit extrememe swearing just because you see content you can easily skip?
*Well really the point i'm making here is that he's not just simply annoyed.
*I'd call it advancely annoyed.
*Anyways, yeah the wording was pretty poor.
