...Yes
Please do before too much is spoiled for you.
All you need to know is that there are three different main endings, with 14 "Neutral" endings. The entire game is very different on the path to these three main endings though, so it's well worth replaying.
For The generally recommended order of endings, you want to play through the first one naturally for the Neutral ending. Feel free to reset or restart as you like and kill or spare who you please.
After that, play though it on a pasifist run trying to spare everyone.
And if you can somehow bring yourself to do the Genocide run after that, good luck. You're going to have a bad time.
It's just extremely important that you try to get the pacifist ending BEFORE attempting Genocide.
Don't fret, It's not worth it.
It's just various grades of the Neutral Ending, all it affects is the call that you get afterwards.
Some are pretty interesting, like the " I almost went on a genocide run, but I ****** up at Mettaton NEO " and " The only person I killed was Undyne "
Really though you should just watch a youtube video for that.
Can someone explain to me what the glowing eye thing is about? I've played Undertale about 2 times now but i have never seen Sans with just one glowing blue eye, only with two white pupils. Am i missing out on something?
It only shows up on a Genocide run, and it means that you're about to swiftly get thrown into 3 walls and eviscerated by 300 bones that deal 40 damage a second, ignoring invulnerability, then finished off by skull lasers.
Basically it's one step past his eyeless "You'd be dead where you stand" glare, where he actually starts ******* you up.
Oh, that explains it. I did neutral on the first try and pacifist on the second. (i could've gone pacifist in the first one if i didn't **** up in the beginning by killing one enemy )
What's with the whole "can't do pacifist after genocide" ******** ?
From technical standpoint you can, genocide doesn't change anything in the entire pacifist run with the exception of post credits where it's implied everybody dies.
I regret doing genocide as much as anyone else, but saying pacifist is impossible after genocide is pretty much telling people who haven't played it yet, that one of the game paths will be parmanetnly blocked from playability. Having tainted ending isnt much fun, but it's still a possible path in game.
No you don't understand: your save file is permanently corrupted if you do a genocide run and you can NEVER have a perfect ending, even if you do a pacifist run
Yes I do undertand, Ive played 60 hours which is a lot for this game. And then I datamined a bit, and then got bored and read data other people dug.
There is a difference between perfect ending and true pacifist ending. First is impossible, second is tainted, but still exists and is not blocked from being achievable. We dont discuss perfect ending here, we're discussing pacifist run, which still exists.
you can do it, just remember, save your pie, grab the 3 snowman piece from snowdin and the noodles from aplhy's house, then buy a face stake and stock the rest of your inventory with legendary heroes. From there it's just remembering his attack patterns.
all the items i've mentioned are healing items that either fully heal you or provide a huge heal. Legendary heroes are also good because they're the best healing item you can buy so you aren't limited.
When a strategy guide sounds like you went through a collection of children's tales and randomly grabbed words and sentences, you know you have an interesting game.
Just remember his attack pattern. Hes not really a skill challenge, hes a persistence challenge, Remember his attacks, and last as long as you can once you can get to his last attack, its pretty much gg for him
