Ayyy, part 3 of "The King" is out!
If you're out of the loop and haven't seen Dreemurr Reborn yet, this is Gerson telling the story of how he and Asgore first met Toriel, before the Monster-Human war. Needless to say, it's gone into the territory where it's ENTIRELY fanmade, and not based very hard into the game itself, so take it with an entire shaker of salt.

Humans and monsters lived together before the war. Toriel seems like a caretaker, so that's why there's so many kids around her.

yeah but seems out of character... toriel is kind hearted but there is no indication that she was a caretaker before asgore went all mad..and even then she started looking after the kids out of pure good will and necessity. this is pre war, she lives with monsters in the kingdom of monsters...shoehorning human kids into it just feels like an unnecessary addition...only reason i see for adding them is that they will be bringing in fake feels or be a plot point at some point..

1-this is fan-made, not canon. The artist can do as he pleases. If he thinks Toriel would do well as caretaker then he can draw it he wishes to.

2-Even thought there is a monster kingdom doesn't mean that there will only be monsters in it. Monsters and humans lived in harmony so even though there are human and monster kingdoms they still live together. For example, nowadays people from around the world can come live at other nations even thought they're from different ethnicities. Why? Because even though we're all different from each other we can still live together in harmony if we want to. It's the same with monsters and humans.

What anon said, the comic at this point is COMPLETELY fanmade here, with the only Undertale characters in it being Gerson (turtle), Asgore(goat prince, King in game), and Toriel(goat queen in game).

This comic isn't canon with the game, it's just the artist making a story about events prior to the game. So the human children here aren't actually in the game (though they are drawn with some resemblance to the game's protagonist Frisk), but the monster characters are (though they are all much older in the game).
