okay, i like the game and all, but there's a point where you need to stop. That point is right here. Seriously, if we don't contain this soon, we might just reach Sonic-tier levels of autism.
Just take this as a warning. The fandom is already showing the exact symptoms of early autism. This is exactly what happened to homestuck and it'll happen to this too.
actually it's not about your content, but the fandom as a whole. Not to mention that the fallout comps usually have a little more relevant content in them.
it feels more like everyone's waiting to see if people are just going to condemn the content as cringy or annoying even though we seem so have a majority share in this... like honestly
Relevant content? It's just posts of mods, or any game glitch you can find and post so people can circlejerk and meme about bethesda's reputation, I'm not saying that I enjoy fandoms, but it's either seeing the problems in all or none, it's inherent in any fandom, get over it.
The most cringeworthy or out of place post I deleted and just apologised because it was so obviously out of place and ask them not to judge the fandom. I've seen only one other person do something stupid like this.
well, let's see, first of all theres /r/undertail. I mean, i know it's only natural for things like that to come up, but there really is a disturbing amount of content there. And the shipping. Good god, i just want to see jokes or neat content like fan-created levels or **** , but instead i'm assault with LMAO DAE SHIP SKELEGOAT xDDD. Not to mention the art is getting more and more autistic. Yes, there is those crazy good artists that can actually make something that is pretty incredible. but there's also the ones that just make "ayy lmao here's papyrus and sans wearing magical girl outfits just because lel".
Don't mistake it as me insulting you, i'm just more and less insulting the fandom in itself.
People say about literally every thing that there's 'disturbing' amounts of porn.
EVERYTHING HAS PORN MADE OF IT.
THAT IS THE RULE.
Get used to it. There's porn of things with no fanbase.
Anything that gets a mass audience is going to have this kind of thing happen.
If everyone posts a reasonable amount of content, but the fandom is small, then there is no flood of content that makes people like you sick of seeing the work. Ie: Storm Hawks, or any other of the good but unrecognized works out there.
If everyone posts the same amount, but the work is popular, then there will inevitably be a flood of content because there are simply MORE fans. Ie: Any Tumblr fandom.
What would you have people do, self police and say "You can create content, but you cannot because we have passed our monthly quota?"
At least you have differentiated between Fandom and Work. A lot of people say "Undertale is **** because these ******* Sans/Toriel comics make me sick." Of course, this is the most contrived ******** of all.
As an expert on cancerous fanbases, I bid you adieu.
I don't feel bad about homestuck. I tried getting into it but it just feel extremely complicated for convoluted pieces of information. You guys didn't deserve the hate either.
The fandom for this game isn't small though, it's shy and self-aware. Constantly afraid of being tagged as cancer or cringeworthy.
Literally the only reason people see this content, is because it was popular enough to show up in the rankings.
I post content when I'm stressed, talking to people on the posts about whatever and getting upvotes is strangely validating, gotta burn those thumbs to fuel the ego.
Nobody cared about the shipping in pokemon, why should they care here?
this sucks but eventually we will get proper recognition
Usually at this part I'd make a self-critical or even meta backtracking remark about how that's just a joke or something so that people will think about what I say instead of just attacking me.
I'm tired of trying to appeal to everyone.
Especially when it's not even a ******* majority that has any real issue with this, nor is there any reason for anyone to either.
"extremely complicated for convoluted pieces of information"
You got that right. Time-line tracing is one of my favorite past-times, when thinking about Homestuck.
I don't see Undertale fans doing anything NEARLY as cringy, compared to Homestuck, MLP and Sonic, which I consider to be the trifecta of cringe. The fanbases of these 3 do have some issues, issues that are simply not present in other fandoms, even the large ones like Dr. Who, Marvel or yes, Undertale.
Still, enjoy what you enjoy, post about it here on FJ as long as it's relevant, and you're always going to be faultless. The actions of the fan do not detract from the value of the work, so people who judge you because you post Undertale can go **** themselves.
Of course, every rule has an exception. In this case, Twilight. I think we can both agree that fandom and work together made a truly horrific catastrophe.
Anyway, great content, looking forward to seeing more at any time!
"Time-line tracing is one of my favorite past-times"
I don't see it as cringey though, the dedication to something you like isn't something to be looked down upon.
I already acted like an idiot once... with posting irrelevantly with undertale and tried to fix it. Nothing more to now.
Twilight was just mediocre, with a few moments that just made no sense for the sake of plot. It appeals to the aspects of uhhhhh I'm not breaking this down this is nawt my job.
I'll find new stuff later... in a month or two. Do you want to be on my mentions for Aftertale?
