In my head chara is only evil in a genocide run, then at the end becomes literal satan
In a pacifist run, towards the true ending, I feel chara gradually learns to become more kind this is based on the idea that the player, in some form, is chara
She gives off the 'nice until you piss her off' vibe in those comics. It'd be neat to see a protective version of her in one... Not sure if there are any comics where she goes out of the way to defend Frisk.
One thing I don't understand though is where the name Chara came from. Frisk is actually mentioned, but I never saw that in the genocide play through. Never playing that or watching it again.
if you put "chara" in as the name for the fallen child, it says "this is the true name."
Whether or not that actually means its the actual name of the fallen child can be debated, but many people assume it's supposed to be so they just go with it. its also an abbreviation of "character," which a lot of names in the game are, they're abbreviations.
yeah, that's actually what's happening.
Also, chara is possibly short for character, going back to when Toby was first designing the game and advertising it through kickstarter, he tweeted about he wanted the big bad to be the player, and take their name.
that's why your name shows up on the films in worstgirl's basement. You are chara, who is in turn also a seperate entity.
honestly its because I have a hard time finding reasons to dislike the main characters in something I like, I like to find the good in them and what makes them stand out from everyone else.
She has some obnoxious quirks about her initially, yeah, but I feel she becomes a much stronger and appreciable character after the events of her "date," she has the greatest potential for growth.
There is one I've seen before where she acts as Frisk's courage, calming her through the game. Particularly in the true lab. I know it was posted here somewhere, either as content or in the comments, but that's all I remember.
"Would you like something to drink?"
She opened the fridge.
"We have water, milk, juice, feels, Dr. Pepper-"
"Feels?"
"Feels it is then."
"No that wasnt what i-"
But she was already pouring him a brimming glass of feels.
The ghost is pink, though. Everyone knows, if it's pink, it's either Kirby or has a vagina. You don't just **** with hundreds of years of color coding.
It's actually only been like 100 years, before then pink was masculine and blue was just blue. Blue didn't become a masculine color until The Great Gatsby was written.
Mettaton is a robot and a ghost previously, since it's stated that napstablook isn't male or female and we don't have a frame of reference for robots we could assume that neither ghosts or robots have gender, so like frisk it's up to the player.
there's a fan idea that chara is only psychopathic if the player's actions are psychopathic (AKA the genocide run). If you play as a pacifist and act with kindness, chara will mirror that attitude.
sort of, he explains that chara didnt like humanity. I think chara wanted to destroy humanity, but did actually care about the monsters and wanted to see them free, and probably hoped that the resulting war would wipe out the humans.
also, just to clarify, when i say chara will mirror the pacifist attitude, I'm speaking with the assumption that the player is playing the game through chara, in a metaphysical sense.
That awkward moment when you try to ship, but they're more like siblings at this point, so that's kinda weird
also the fanbase probably wanting to clobber me to death
One down, a bunch to go love me some undertale, but it honestly makes no sense why asriel and frisk could live under the same household since you know, asriel would evntually turn back into flowey.
The what if story about Chara and Asriel if Chara wasn't a little evil spawn of Satan is probably my favorite what if story....
That is, if Frisk got down there much, MUCH earlier. Oh, and the whole goal of the game is to break the barrier with your two new friends Asriel and Chara.
