Nah dawg your mixing up story with narrative and lore the story it's self was nothing more than a framing device for the interactions with the characters. The way the characters were displayed and the lore surrounding the underground where what kept most people playing and the characters being absolutly amazing each rich with personality and depth is what makes undertale great.
no narrative is how you tell a story and lore the the an explanation on the world the story takes place in an example would be the book "the book thief" in it the story is about a little girl and her experiences living with foster parents in Germany during world war 2 however the story narrative is told from deaths perspective and the lore is real life historical events
That's not really a difference, though. They're both just part of the story. Well lore is, at least. Narrative just literally means story. Both story and narrative are accounts of events.
I can't really argue the narrative point because that is the actual definition I'm probably thinking of a different word so my bad and the point about lore is true, lore is definitely part of the story but it's not the story ya know another example being star wars their was a very rich and deep lore surrounding the story but it was never fully explored in the movies (probably because that would have been one weird and long movie)
Actually, there's more to it. You'd be surprised how naturally that happens. Everyone I know who created big amounts of something on a computer, eventually stopped giving a **** and started using simple, personal thought processes on everything. Photo samples, stock images, Photoshop layers, sprites - you name it.
The reason is that when you do a lot of creative work, you just stop giving a **** . You simplify everything particularly for yourself, and use as many shortcuts as you can, because it makes you work better. Naming the running away animation "sprheartgtfo" makes perfect sense, because it is_ a heart and it is getting the **** out - that makes it easy to find, easy to recognise, and easy to work with.
I even use that system to name files in my reaction folder. If I save a shrug photo with an old man on it, it goes "shrugoldman.jpg". If I want to post gandalf saying no, I don't scroll to gigantic amount of gifs, don't search in subfolders, none of that - I just type "gandalfno" in search bar and there it is.
Toby simply thinks like any good creative worker thinks.
Do it. The internet whines about things being cancerous too much, we need to overstimulate it to desensitize it. Make it in Minecraft on a Linux. Have at least 3 DLCs for it too.
Homestuck has quite a few flaws. One of these is that Homestuck has a dense/confusing and, some say, boring First Act. This is the Act you have finished, so picture a meal, and you've just finished all the veggies and can now enjoy your steak.
Their inventories are a parody of inventory systems in a lot of games. Here is how they work.
A deck of cards is your inventory, and is called a Sylladex.
Cards, called Captchalogue cards, come blank, naturally.
Cards need to be sorted with a Fetch Modus. This is the method of retrieval for your cards, and dictates the rules of how and when you can access your items, in addition to the max weight/mass you can pick up. For example, John's very basic Stack Modus struggles with a weighty chest, but Jake, another character, can pick up and store an entire house because he has a more advanced Fetch Modus.
Most importantly, when you pick up any item with a card, a Captcha, like pic related, will appear on the back. With the new machines placed in his house during Act 1, John can enter this code into the machines and spawn copies of it, costing that mysterious Grist stuff that was mentioned earlier in Act 1. How he gets more of that stuff is revealed later...
An unimportant running gag is that sometimes weapons stored in cards will flip to another item. For example, a Machine Gun becomes a set of key, or a Chainsaw becomes a tube of lipstick. These items will switch back in due time, usually when it would be most comedic.
If you think you will start Homestuck again, I suggest re-reading from the beginning. While a little tedious, Act 1 lays down a lot of important rules.
Have fun! Feel free to give me a shout for further explanations.
I suppose. I put fnaf in a bubble though. It's such a tight game with an incredibly rigid lore that crossovers inevitably become bad fanfiction. Not enough source material to draw upon yknow?
So this is what undertale should be according to progressive types on tumblr, every time i look at this i feel a sudden rush of both suicidal and homicidal thoughts.
i still dont know what androidromantic means. idk how toriel and asgore are trans if theyve had a kid, and how hes gay... also alphys is clearly attracted to undyne who is a woman so clearly shes nto bisexual.. NAPSTABLOOK IS A GHOST FOR GODS SAKES WITH LITERALLY NO CHARACTER OTHER THAN SADBOYZ AND MAD DUMMY IS JUST A ******* ... HES A DUMMY HES A ******* MANNAQUINN HHHHHWHY
agreed except for the alphys part, I mean bi means attracted to both genders, so just because she is attracted to one doesn't mean you can rule anything out
I feel this picture was made on 4chan. It seems too out there to be something made by someone who actually takes that stuff seriously. People should stop spreading it.
Also, the whole Alphys x Undyne thing is within the game's cannon, implying it happened before tumblr knew about it, so if you are implying tumblr caused it, you didn't think this through very well.
Not even in their delusional muddying of chracters can the tumblrites deny the greatest and most powerful (arguable man) would be white. Damn do I love my sweet white privilege.
Everyone's black or tanned? Normally I'd just look away but Napstablook is a timid ghost! You'd think that would be a shy white kid or something. It's pure garbage but that got me more than anything.
Yhea me too, they aren't going to change anything by portraing character as negroes or by just giving them sexual preferences, this is not only gross, its also absurd.
Honestly, they can do whatever the **** they want, all this stuff will never be canon anyway.
Although it's sad, really. The main story has barely anything to do with sexuality and they still put labels on everyone. Even on Frisk, who has no concrete traits, since he is nothing but an avatar of a player. But I guess this is what happens nowadays when anything with good characters is created: they get their own "ask" blogs on tumblr where their very soul is mutilated.
Doesn't matter what pronoun you use to call her as long as you don't honestly believe it's the correct one to define him. It's meant to be a self insert, after all. Different players will call them different things.
That was a typo, I meant "they" this is one of the cases where I will mind the pronouns . As far as I know developer never stated what Frisk's gender is and he skipped that question on an interview.
