Man, it's almost sad how much Undertale stomped all the other games. I kind of wish betting on the winner was a thing, from the very start I would've put a LOT of money on Undertale.
All this talk of "Salt" and I'm still wondering why anyone cares about a Gamefaq's vote.
Not only is the vote "one game against another", meaning not all the games are even actually put against each other, but it's not even giving us a base to work off of. Like it's not "best music" or "best story." It's just "what's the best game?" and comparing them to just one other game makes the vote null completely, in my opinion.
It's highly likely Undertale is going to win more so because it keeps being put against older games and because people are being told not to vote for it. If it was a proper vote with every game in consideration at once, Undertale wouldn't even be in the top 10.
sorry, with the smug anime face it looked like you were bait/troll but you didnt go full **** fest in response, please continue
and i suppose you have never been on the gamefaq forms because brawl fans as well as most others are throwing a fit over it
also undertale basically has already won
Then I'm sorry for giving off that impression, I guess. <(' '<);
It was an honest question with an explanation as for why I was questioning it. I know that the Gamefaq's forums are going crazy about this, but my statement still stands about the vote itself being rather... well, dumb. I mean, it's just one game vs another game, as far as I've seen. When comparing just two games at a time against each other, it's hard to get a real read on what people like overall, y'know?
Like, I do enjoy Undertale, but I wouldn't say it was my most favorite game, y'know? I'm not even sure if I have a favorite game since I play so many.
But I know they're goin' crazy and that was kind of my question as "why" they cared so much. Sorry if it came off as a troll question, 'cause it's kind of an honest one... sort of. But I do know Undertale has basically already won. I mean, lots of peeps are gonna vote against Ocarina of Time just to snip at the nostalgia people.
Undertale has a bunch of people hating on it hard and because of this people who love it feel the need to fight back and that's how this whole thing started.
personally i feel that the reason undertale turned out like this is because the game focuses on character, story and charm and if you do not like this sort of thing you will really not enjoy the game while the people who do like it will gush over it because a game like it has not been not he market for years as well as it being done extraordinarily well, this type of fanbase also makes up a large amount of artistic people who therefore show it though comics and such, unlike other gamers who find funny things in the game like glitches or makes stupid memes about it, this leads to people who have only heard of the game hating it for no reason other then a certain group loves it (funnyjunks war on tumblr)
though thats just my two cents
I still rather enjoy a lot of Undertale stuff myself and seeing people hating on it without even really looking at it is pretty bothersome... But not to the point that I'd make this big of a mess over it.
I guess that's just a difference in choices, though.
I think Ocarina of Time isn't really that great. It's been called the best game of all time for a long time, but that's only because of it's legacy. Plus, a lot of people are just gonna vote for not cuz they think it should stay on top, just so that it can continue being the best, rather than because it's a better game.
Undertale is better in my opinion.
Something about Link's screams of terror during his bad time had me laughing pretty hard.
Pretty sure Undertale is going to win this. It'd be a funny thing to see all the salt from it!
Hmm... Okay, so I already know preemptively that this is never going to happen, but...
Wouldn't it be interesting if Sans were in Super Smash Brothers?
Now hang on a god damned second, there's a catch as to why he'd be so interesting.
His move set would be god like, really hard to use him and not win basically. No idea what it would be exactly, but in between all the bones, gaster blasters and telekinetic like attacks, I think he'd be a pretty formidable character. The catch, though, is that if he so much as takes a single hit, he goes to 300% and goes flying off the screen, giving you only a maximum number of chances to dominate in a round. He'd be the definition of a glass canon, and would be pretty balanced in a way. He'd be challenging for pros to play with and against, and noobs who would obviously misuse him like any other character would make an opening for themselves that would get smacked by whoever they were playing against eventually. His final smash could be putting a character in a box and surrounding them with gaster blasters for a **** ton of damage... or maybe he'd go in for a hug only to smack them with the text "get dunked on" appearing on screen.
Again, just a thought on how Sans could mechanically and thematically work in SSB.
I had a similar thought but with Papyrus. Sans would probably be to lazy to show as an actual fighter, but he might show up as an assist trophy. Plus Papyrus would see this as a way of proving himself ready for the royal guard. His victory screen could even use his font.
